This week we will begin ILEARN (Indiana's Learning Evaluation and Assessment Readiness Network) testing for grades 3-8. These tests are state-mandated, and they help our staff to gather data on how well our students are learning the content in the Indiana Academic Standards. We ask that you please take extra care to ensure that you have your child well-rested, well-fed, and on time during these next several weeks of school!

Congratulations to our 6th graders! They earned the Gospel Value Spotting award from Mrs. Connors for demonstrating exemplary behavior during the week before Spring Break. The 6th grade will have a dress down day Monday.

ILEARN testing starts tomorrow. All 3rd-8th grade students must have working headphones or earbuds in order to complete the test.

Luke competed in the State Science Fair in Indianapolis Saturday, April 6th. He was offered an opportunity to collaborate with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). 

Luke's project answered the question "Which wind turbines are most effective and how they can be improved?" He built many different prototypes of wind turbines and even designed his own.

Congratulations Luke! Go Lions!

Our 7th grade students just shared their latest computer science project with 5th grade students. The challenge was to create a musical instrument and then code it to make sounds using the Scratch coding platform and MakeyMakey circuit hardware. Students spent hours and hours perfecting their instruments, and the results were fantastic!

Did you know that you can find all of the HASA events and sign-ups HERE on our website?

The Field Day Committee is trying something new this year! In order to help our volunteers and reduce the disruption to classes, we are asking parents to fill out this form for their children's shirts for Field Day. We understand that some students are uncomfortable with being measured in class, and parents know their children's sizing best. All students will receive their free shirts the last week of school.

Please fill out a separate form for each student.  

Note: Your student will be measured in class against our sample shirts if we do not receive a response. If you are unsure of your child's size, please do not fill out the form. If you have any questions, please feel free to email Caitlin Giordano at chawrysz@gmail.com
