PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE

The summit of our Liturgical Year is the Easter Triduum, which spans from the evening of Holy Thursday to the evening of Easter Sunday. Fr. Bill and Fr. Augustine have asked me to encourage all school families to attend some of our many parish events during this very sacred time. We hope to see you there!

In Christ,

Chris Milliron

SPOTTING GOSPEL VALUES

Congratulations to the 3rd Grade for winning this week's Gospel Value Spotting Award and earning a dress down day on Monday! They were nominated by Mrs. McKinney for displaying the gospel value of respect. They did this by being great examples to all of the grade levels during our fire drill on Wednesday, even though it was during recess. Great job 3rd grade!

TALENT SHOW

Application and more information can be found HERE.

Announcing The Thirteenth Annual Saint Pius X Catholic School Talent Show!

Applications with parent signature for each person in every act are due Wednesday, March 27th.

Guidelines:

  • Performers must be in grades 4-8
  • Due to time constraints, not every act will be chosen for the show
  • Audition videos must be shared with Mrs. Watson by Tuesday, April 16th. Videos should be submitted using THIS GOOGLE FORM.

SPRING BREAK

Saint Pius X Catholic School and offices will be closed for Good Friday March 29 and for Spring Break April 1-5.

If your student(s) will be missing 2 or more days in addition to the six holidays, a parent responsibility form must be completed and sent in to the front office. You can find the form HERE.

DONUTS WITH DAD

Our Little Lions got to show off their classrooms this week during a special Donuts with Dad event. Treats and smiles for everyone!

DRESS CODE

Once students return from Spring Break, shorts will be allowed to be worn on campus.

Unlike flowers and plants, students grow over the winter months, so please make sure their shorts fit before Monday morning. All shorts must meet dress code standards which can be found HERE.

CRS RICE BOWL

Welcome to week six of the CRS Rice Bowl!

As we walk with Jesus through Holy Week, we call to mind the countless men, women and children who even today carry heavy crosses: crosses of hunger, of homelessness, of a lack of resources or security. In these brothers and sisters we encounter Christ, as he walks that long road to Calvary. In these encounters, it’s important not to forget an essential pillar of Lenten spirituality—almsgiving—which allows us to help those who are most in need.

Pray: We pray for our global family members carrying heavy crosses caused by hunger, climate change and poverty.

May our prayers and actions help them with these burdens.

Amen

4th GRADE STEWARDSHIP

Fourth grade stewardship focuses on people with disabilities. This year, we are working to help our students learn about organizations in our community that support people with disabilities, as well as celebrate each other's differences.

Last week the students had a wonderful speaker event with the Dees family and our own Amber Weaver to celebration of World Down Syndrome Day. The students asked some very insightful questions.

SHADOW STATIONS

MATH KANGAROO

Math Kangaroo had a fantastic time with the Saint Pius X young mathematicians last week. The students were happy, optimistic, and faced the challenges and competition with a smile. Go Lions!
