GOSPEL VALUE SPOTTING

Congratulations to Mrs. McKinney's class for winning this week's Gospel Value Spotting award! They were spotted demonstrating the gospel value of respect when they were headed outside to recess. They were quiet and mindful of others on their way down the stairs. They walked on the right-hand side quietly and greeted Senora Vasquez with big smiles. Mrs. McKinney's class class has earned a dress down day Monday!

BATTLE OF THE BOOKS

Calling All 4th and 5th Grade Readers! Parents, you're invited too!

Join us for an informational meeting to learn about the exciting Battle of the Books competition!

Date: October 30th

Time: After School

Location: SPX Library

What is Battle of the Books?

It's a fun and engaging reading competition where students dive into a variety of great books and compete to see who knows them best!

How it Works:

  • Read: Students read from a selected list of books.
  • Discuss: Parent-led teams discuss the books and prepare together.
  • Compete: Teams of four answer questions about the books in a thrilling quiz-show format.

The big competition will take place in late February. It's a fantastic way to encourage reading, teamwork, and fun! Hope to see you there! Contact Mrs. Kirkland with any questions at mkirkland@stpius.net

UPCOMING OPPORTUNITIES

Join us today for the Fall Fest

 Pious Pages Book Club

On November 1, our 4th graders will once again celebrate the lives of the holy men and women that loved Jesus and shared that love with others throughout their lives.

But why limit The Solemnity of All Saints to just one day? This year, Saint Pius X students can learn about the many saints with our own 'Pi(o)us Pages' Book Club throughout the month of November.

Please encourage your student to visit the special section dedicated to saints in the library. After reading a book, your student can fill out a Saint Card to share a fun fact about the saint they read about, and we will display these in the library throughout the month. At the end of November, we will have a drawing for a fun saint prize package.

We look forward to learning more with our children as they read about these holy men and women that have shaped - and continue to shape - our faith.

Thank you for supporting this initiative,

HASA Faith Formation & Service Committee
