Sunday School Curriculum--E100 for Kids
Last year, the Sunday School class took a whirlwind tour through the Torah, the first five books of the Bible, exploring the stories of Creation, the exile from the Garden, the family of Abraham, the Exodus, and the years of wandering in the desert, trying to figure out how to be a community in harmony with God and ready to re-enter a new Eden--the Promised Land.
This year we will be exploring the stories and writings of the "historical writings" and the wisdom writings. In the fall semester, we will touch on some of the stories of Israel newly arrived in Canaan from Joshua, Judges, and Ruth. We will also meet the prophet Samuel and King David. In the spring, we will pivot to reading samples of Proverbs, Psalms, and other wisdom literature alongside the stories that accompany them in Scripture.
As usual, Sunday School well be held in the downstairs classrooms of the Bank Barn following the 9 a.m. service.
New Sunday School Teachers and Youth Assistants
I have been recruiting new Sunday School teachers and Youth Assistants. We are finalizing that group of people this month and should discuss it at the Kick Off Party. I am happy to say that some of our older kids, in seventh grade now, will be returning to Sunday School as assistants. I'm excited for that!
