Worship Online or On Campus This Weekend
Sunday @ 8:15am & 10:45am
“Critical Connections” Series begins this Sunday!
If one thing is clear about the events of 2020, it is that we are living in pivotal times and that God is up to something BIG in the world! With all of the unexpected events we've encountered this year, how can we continue to faithfully follow Jesus when our path is so uncertain? This Sunday, Pastor Joshua kicks off a new series entitled “Critical Connections” that will explore how the Bible instructs Christ-followers to stay alert and engaged during uncertain times. Explore with us as we look at three foundational relationships that will prepare and protect us to follow Christ confidently into the unknown.
We have a praise we want to share -- this past Sunday, we had an amazing 72 members attend our traditional service! We are so thankful we've been able to worship together online throughout this pandemic, but it sure does our hearts good to see so many of you in person.

We can't wait to see you this again Sunday, whether you are able to join on campus or online.
Volunteer Spotlight: Meet the Renners
For more than 10 years, the Renner family has been volunteering their time and energy at HFUMC. Chris and Laura, members of the Pathfinders Class, have both spent countless Sunday mornings leading Sunday school lessons - Chris with the Pathfinders and Laura in our Kids Ministry. Chris is also currently leading one of our fall Discipleship Groups.

In addition to volunteering in Sunday School, Chris has been part of our Sunday morning A/V team, running slides for the Contemporary Service. In fact, he hasn't missed a Sunday since church resumed on campus in June.

Seated to his left every Sunday morning is their daughter Kate, pictured above with her dad. A sophomore in high school, Kate has been volunteering her time operating the lights for the Contemporary Service. She also volunteers as a peer mentor for middle schoolers in our Youth Group.

Thank you, Renners for sharing your time and talents with HFUMC!
Confirmation Class, Youth and Small Groups off to a great start
Confirmation Class (pictured below) kicked off with a bang this past Sunday. The class of 30 students met and learned about God's attributes. They will continue to meet each Sunday through the spring.

Our Small Groups resumed this past week, with several Bible Studies and Discipleship Group offerings - some on campus and others virtually. In all, we have approximately 70 people participating in a small group this fall.

Youth Group continues to amaze with dozens of middle and high schoolers coming together on Sunday nights for fellowship and to grow together in their faith. This weekend, several of our middle schoolers will be going to Cedar Crest for a retreat. Please join us in praying for a safe and spirit-filled trip for them.
Sunday School Update
The COVID-19 Committee met last week to discuss the return of more in-person programs, including Sunday School for kids, youth and adults. While there are still logistics that need to be worked through, our hope is to have in-person Sunday School offerings return in October (the exact date is still TBD). In the coming days/weeks, our Sunday School leaders will begin to reach out to possible volunteers - volunteers are absolutely critical to our ability to bring these programs back. Please be in prayer on how you may be able to help, as well as for those who will be serving our Sunday School classes, and a safe return for all.
