This Sunday

November 23rd

This week in Sunday School...

Our kids will be busy learning the songs for the Christmas pageant! We'll practice the music together and talk about how these songs tie into the story of Jesus' birth.

We will also take time to reflect on Thanksgiving. We talk about the importance of being aware of our blessings and saying thank you for all the big and small ways god provides for us.

Finally, our Bible story this week is about the prophet Elijah and the widow at Zarephath. We will talk about how God provided for them when they were hungry. We will think about the ways we can be the hands of God and provide for others. We look forward to being with you on Sunday.

Pledges Due on Sunday

You are invited to make a financial pledge to support Christ Church in the coming year. Pledges support all of the ministries of Christ Church, including our vibrant Sunday School program. We ask you to prayerfully consider your level of support, and return a completed pledge card by Sunday, November 23rd. 2026 Annual Giving Brochure and Pledge Cards are linked below.

Will You Be There?

Introducing Our New Giving Tree

Starting November 30th

We are excited to launch a new Giving Tree outreach at our church this year! A tree with gift tags will be in the Sunday School large group room starting next Sunday, November 30th. Each tag will include an item (or items) to purchase for individuals and families experiencing homelessness at the Samaritan Inn in Sussex County. We are grateful to be partnering on this outreach project with Girl Scout Troops 97152, 98428, and 97605. Please return all gifts unwrapped or in a gift bag by December 14th. Thank you for helping us extend Christ's love to our neighbors in need this Christmas season.

Sunday School Recap:

November 16th

David and Goliath

Last week we began working on the Christmas pageant songs during music. We then learned about David and Goliath, the story about a young boy with great faith who defeated a giant. We talked about and prayed for the "Goliaths" in their life. They shared about their struggles with math, sports and friends. The kids discovered that with God's help, even the smallest person can do brave things.

On Going:

Learning the Lord's Prayer

Our Sunday School kids are working hard on learning the Lord's Prayer! Each week we practice together. We encourage families to practice at home- maybe before bedtime or at the dinner table. This will help the prayer to become a part of daily life. With a little practice and a lot of heart, all of our kids will soon know this beautiful prayer by heart.

Our Father, who art in heaven,

 hallowed be thy Name,

thy kingdom come,

thy will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those

who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

and the power, and the glory,

for ever and ever.

Amen.

Junior Choir

The Junior Choir is open to all children who are in the 2nd grade through grade 7. Rehearsals are every week during coffee hour. Typically, our rehearsals run from 11:30 until 12:30. The children can grab a snack at coffee hour and then everyone goes down to the Sunday School together to rehearse. Parents can enjoy coffee hour or some also run errands during rehearsal time. The Junior Choir sings every other week and also on high holy days and special services. Rehearsals have begun, so come on down and check us out! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Debbie Mello  dmello435@gmail.com.

Parent's Run on Coffee

Don't have anything to do between 9:30 when you drop your kids off at Sunday School and worship at 10? Now you do! Come enjoy a cup of coffee, mingle with other parents and check out what's happening in Sunday School.
