Coronavirus Response 3/13/2020
Service/Activities Cancelled
Dear Ambassador Family,

The Session met to discuss our response to the Coronavirus pandemic. It is a rapidly evolving situation, and we are monitoring events and recommendations from government and health officials as best we can. We are reminded that "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and self-control," (2 Tim. 1:7).  Thus we come to this situation with a deep faith in our heavenly Father's sovereign purpose and provision, as well as humble dependence on his wisdom, power, and love as we respond.

A fter giving prayerful consideration to where things are at this point, and in light of the strong recommendations by state and national health officials to refrain from gathering in large groups in close proximity, the Session has decided to cancel services at the church this Sunday (3/15) and all church activities on the Ambassador campus this coming week including Mainly Music and Women's Bible Study.  Again, we recognize this is a rapidly unfolding situation, and so we will be discussing and deciding on future services and activities in the coming days as we know more.

We recognize the importance and blessing of gathering together for corporate worship as God's people, and we value highly our fellowship together in the body at Ambassador. We also acknowledge the power of our gospel-witness through loving our neighbor and pursing the good of our community, and our responsibility to have care and compassion for the sick and vulnerable. With the overwhelming and all-inclusive measures being taken now to limit the spread of this virus, we believe it is in the best interest of our congregation and community to restrict our gatherings at this point. We are looking at the possibility of a live-stream format that would enable us to worship "together" from our homes on Sunday. In the absence of that, we will seek to provide you with resources by which you can do so together as a family.

As we walk together in this time of uncertainty and upheaval of life's routines, let us make the most of the opportunity to trust fully in our unchanging, steadfast, faithful heavenly Father and to look afresh for ways to love, serve and care for one another and those around us. Let us pray for one another, for our community and the world, that in the midst of fear and chaos, people would find rest, comfort and hope in the sure foundation of Jesus Christ. Pray for wisdom for leaders at all levels an in all fields as they work together in their response.

Our elders and deacons are here to assist with any needs you may have. We will be monitoring updates and communicating any decisions as they are made by email. If you have any questions, please contact me or one of the elders.
