Did you know?

People with diabetes are 50% more likely to suffer from depression than people without diabetes.

A large number of our patients are living with diabetes. Living with a condition that can be both difficult to control and debilitating can have serious impacts on mental health. In return depression can unhealthy lifestyle choices that exacerbate diabetes' symptoms. This is a cycle that can be difficult to break.

As part of the Virginia Health Care Foundation's (VHCF) Defeating the Deadly Double: Depression and Diabetes initiative, CrossOver has created two new positions to work with our diabetic patients to help prevent depression and break the cycle.

The Defeating the Deadly Double team will work together to provide mental health support as well as health education to provide the support our patients need to achieve better health outcomes and lead happier, healthier lives.

Thank you to the VHCF for making this program possible!
