One of the first things Sharon Minor will tell you is that she was afraid; afraid of doctors, afraid of needles, afraid of bad news. This was a large reason she had not seen a doctor in years. Another, was that she lacked health insurance.
After a particularly bad asthma attack, a friend told her about CrossOver and encouraged her to seek help. Thankfully, she did.
In addition to asthma, Sharon also had diabetes and high blood pressure, neither of which were under control.
Sharon was immediately prescribed the medications she needed, along with education and tools for her to monitor her health at home.
Over the years Sharon improved her health with regular doctor's visits at CrossOver and faithfully taking her medications.
Despite these improvements, two years ago her kidneys began to fail. CrossOver's Medical Director, Dr. Mike Murchie, encouraged her to start dialysis, but again, she was afraid.
