Hello Sunshine,
Sometimes we need a little help from our friends. They lift us up when we are down. It has never been more important to have someone to share your ups and your downs than this past year. The studio is full of all kinds of connections and friendships. When you come into the studio we all are part of the same Tribe and we encourage you to reach out and make a connection.
Last week we celebrated the move into spring with Mallory and Jennifer had a sold-out Goat Yoga for charity event. We have more fun and exciting things coming this year.
July 10th, I will run my very first Reiki training and attunements. My Reiki journey began in 2013 when I started to feel and notice the shift of energy when teaching yoga. I received my Reiki level 1 in 2015, level 2 in 2017, and in 2020 I received my Master attunement. I am very excited to share this experience with you. If you are interested we can book a private reiki session. See below for more information on Reiki training.
I am very proud and excited to announce our 5th Annual Sunshine Aerial Showcase.
Saturday, October 2nd, 2021 at Reds Roadhouse in Kennedale on Business 157. The venue is amazing and this will be the best year ever. The venue is inside. We will have live music from Kerry Freeman after the show. There will be a cash bar and food to purchase, so come to party. The Avatar won the costume contest in 2020, who will win this year? There will be a trophy and a $100 cash prize.
This week's #SunshinePoseoftheWeek is HIGH PLANK pose. Plank pose is a strong powerful pose in every kind of fitness. In yoga, we see plank pose in our Sun Salutations. This posture also uses the entire body and improves strength and endurance. Also called Chaturanga Dandasana, Chatur - four, anga - limb, danda - staff, asana - pose.
To be safe in your plank pose use a tilt in the pelvic bone and a lift in the diaphragm to create an energetic lift in the pose. Also, lift out of the shoulder joint so you do not have dead weight in the posture. Next week we will look at the low plank variation.
Find the best version of your plank pose for your body and show us with a post on social media. Use the hashtags
#sunshineposeoftheweek #sunshinetribe and @sunshineyogashack. Without the hashtag and studio tag, I may not see your entry. Every post you make is an entry. There are 4 weeks and 4 poses before we draw the winner. The winner will be able to choose a new Manduka yoga mat or bolster from Manduka.com. We will draw a winner for March on Wednesday!
A big shot out to Angela Guthrie for being in our plank picture and to Andy Jordan for taking the picture.
Love and Light!
Lynn
