Hello Sunshine,
Feeling naked? Most of us have been unmasked this week when the CDC said you could take your mask off if you are vaccinated. Some of us are glad to be free and others are missing the shield against the world. Wearing a mask over the past year-plus created a separation between us and humanity. When we are blocked from seeing faces we forget we are all in this together. We forget each of us is human and going through our own struggles and successes. My hope is to see more smiling faces, make more connections, and feel a sense of unity with our community.
When we practice yoga we move deep into ourselves, which can leave us exposed to the outside world. As a yoga teacher, I see the beauty that shines from within when you practice. All of our masks and shields are stripped away and the true self is present on your yoga mat. This connects us to our higher purpose and connects us to the yoga family practicing around us. It is an honor for me to witness your practice and see your transformations.
We love reviews, so tell us what you think. This week we reached a total of 198 reviews. Your opinion means the world to us!
We have 60 5 Star Reviews on Google,
73 5 Star Reviews on Facebook, and
65 5 Star Reviews on Wellness Living. All of us at Sunshine want to say a BIG FAT THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to give us a review.
Andy has recently earned his Aerial Yoga Certification and he cannot wait to share Aerial with you. He has created a fun and informative workshop to help everyone who wants to try aerial but might be a little afraid. Easy Aerial with Andy will happen on June 26th at 2. He will teach the basics and show the beauty of what an aerial practice can offer. See the link below to register for this workshop.
This week's Pose of the Week is made better with a little help from our friends to bring us a sense of unity. We won't touch in the studio but find a friend or do it solo, or any way you can do Front Leg Raise Pose or Utthita (Extended) Eka (One) Padasana (Foot Pose). From Mountain pose shift your weight to one foot and slowly lift the other foot up by bending the knee and raising it to hip height before extending the leg straight out in front of you. Hands can stay on your hips, lifted out to your sides or reach them overhead.
Front leg raise is made better by holding hands or the arms of a friend. This posture is great for balance and connection.
Find the best version of your Front Leg Raise pose for your body and show us and post on social media. Use the hashtags
#sunshineposeoftheweek #sunshinetribe and @sunshineyogashack. Without the hashtag and studio tag, I may not see your entry. Every post you make is an entry. There are four weeks and four poses before we draw the winner. The winner will be able to choose a new Manduka yoga mat or bolster from Manduka.com.
Love and Light!
