Hello Sunshine,
Mind Instrument? Do you have a personal mantra? Deepak Chapra defines mantra as an instrument of the mind. This week at Sunshine we will practice setting a mantra for our personal practice and for our future self. The sound of these phrases or mantras creates a vibration of potential in our life. These vibrations can be felt as sensations. As you repeat a mantra out loud or in your mind, it creates an environment where thoughts fall away and you set yourself on a course to fulfill that mantra.
What is one mantra you can set for yourself that will set you on a path for a better future?
As we look forward in our practice there are a few opportunities for growth you may be interested in. Reiki Training is full but I will be planning another certification for some time next summer. However, if you are interested in becoming a yoga teacher or diving deeper into your yoga practice, ask me about the 200 hour Yoga Certification beginning in August.
We have two spots still open for Easy Aerial with Andy. It will be a fun time aimed at anyone interested in Aerial. Andy will show you the beauty and ease of aerial yoga. I hear Andy will have a dose of Aerial Yoga Nidra!
This week's Sunshine Pose of the week is Hamstring stretch or Kneeling Pyramid pose. Ardha- half, parsva-side, ut-intense, tan- extended or Ardha Parsvottanasana. When we talk about our hamstrings we need to think about the insertion point at the knee and at the bottom of the pelvis,. Over stretching either insertion point can cause strain and inflammation. when you practice hamstring stretch play with the pose. Everyone will look different and it will feel different every time you do this posture. Lift your front toes or plant them. Heart to your knee or hover. Back hip up or low to the ground. Find your favorite and show us on social media.
Find the best version of your Hamstring stretch pose for your body and show us and post on social media. Use the hashtags
#sunshineposeoftheweek #sunshinetribe and @sunshineyogashack. Without the hashtag and studio tag, I may not see your entry. Every post you make is an entry. There are four weeks and four poses before we draw the winner. The winner will be able to choose a new Manduka yoga mat or bolster from Manduka.com.
Love and Light!
