Ancient Words, Modern Meaning
Sermon Series on the Ten Commandments
The Ten Commandments are rich in wisdom and simple in language. They have lived in human minds and hearts for over three thousand years, as meaningful today as when Moses stepped down from Mt. Sinai. Join us as we rediscover these ancients texts in the context of our everyday lives. Series runs through Sunday June 27.
Sign-up for 10:00 a.m. In-Person Worship

Nurturing Faith (Sunday School),
Resumes In-Person on Sunday, June 27
Most often when we think about our children’s program, the first thing that comes to mind is Sunday School. For me, the name Sunday School evokes images of standard school supplies (paper, crayons, scissors, etc.), tables, chairs, and answers to questions with right or wrong answers. Faith Formation with our children is so much more. I am so excited to announce that moving forward our ministries with children and their families will be identified as Nurturing Faith. This name clearly states our intention, as a community gathered as followers of Jesus, to nurture the faith that is in each of us.

With that, I am so very happy to announce that we will gather for the first time in a year and a half with children ages 4 through 11 years old at McNaughton Hall on Sunday, June 27.  We will walk over to McNaughton Hall together after the Children’s Moment occurs in the worship service. Parents will pick up their children on the McNaughton Hall patio after worship where we will enjoy a chilly treat and a little conversation together. I will need to know if your child will be attending to ensure treats for all. Contact Andrea Burt to register your child.
"Plymouth and the United Church of Christ" Talk
Sunday, June 27 Following Worship
Did you know that Plymouth isn't a "nondenominational" church? We're one of over 5,000 churches that make up the United Church of Christ (UCC). What is the UCC and what does it mean to be a part of it? Find out the answers to these questions, and the work the wider church is doing thanks to Plymouth's contributions to its mission, from our own Thaddaeus Elliot, a member of the national Board of Directors for the denomination. We will gather in-person in the Chapel following worship on Sunday, June 27. You can also join us via Zoom.
Youth@Plymouth: Summer Refresh
Sunday, June 27 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Every other Sunday, 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., beginning June 13
Calling all rising 6th-12th graders to come recharge your minds, bodies and souls this summer with our Sunday afternoon “Refresh” gatherings! These hour-long sessions will be opportunities to make new friends and bond through games, food, music, and more! It’s the perfect time to jump in and get involved with the Youth@Plymouth and get acquainted before our full ramp-up in the fall.
If you have any questions, or would like to learn more about the youth ministry at Plymouth, please contact Youth Leaders Thaddaeus Elliott ([email protected]) or Zach Dunn ([email protected]).
We Hope You Join Us!
School Uniforms Drive with Chapman
The next school year will be very exciting as we return from the pandemic.

We will have many children at the Chapman Partnership for the Homeless Shelters who will be going to school in August.

So-o-o, Barnes Circle and BOOM would like to provide new uniforms, including socks and underwear, for these kids. We hope to provide two sets per child (one to wear, one to wash.)

We need your support for this project as we can anticipate 200+ kids will be living at the shelters in August. Each outfit costs approximately $65 (The uniform store gives us a great deal and packages and labels the uniforms).

In the meantime, we will be collecting donations. For checks directed to Plymouth Church, please specify "Barnes Circle" in the memo line.

Ask your friends to help!

NO AMOUNT IS TOO SMALL OR TOO BIG!
