Sunday worship Feb 9 Zoom information is below.

SNOW ALERT!

We are expecting a lot of snow Saturday night and into Sunday morning. It is hard to know what the parking lot will look like in the morning and if the roads and sidewalks will be passable. It will depend on the timing of the storm, snow totals, and the amount of work needed to clear it all. Pastor Ian will walk over to the church and run worship from the sanctuary with a few souls who might venture forth - and with most of you probably on Zoom or Facebook. We won't have the usual coffee hour, and Sunday School is cancelled. The Choir and Patty are prepared to sing from their homes over Zoom - like we used to do!

When travelling - Use your own best judgment and be safe!

Dear Church,

I will be travelling overseas again beginning Sunday night Feb 9th (weather allowing) and returning Wednesday February 26. Pam and I will spend a few days in Portugal before spending most of the time with my parents in Ireland. During the time in Ireland, I will be working online occasionally and responding to emails, texts, etc.

Pastoral care will be provided by our Congregational Care ministry team, lead contacts are Sharon Thomas, Janet Fischer, and Lorraine Follis. Amanada Grant Rose in our congregation is also available for chaplaincy and spiritual care. And Rev. Joe Amico at Salem Tabernacle UCC is on call. Beacon Fund requests can be directed to Sharon Thomas.

Rev. Debra Adams and Amanda Grant Rose will be our preachers and with members from the congregation, lead worship.

Clarke Orzalli (chair), Mellissa Foye (clerk), and Sharon Scofield (treasurer) as officers of the church, will help with any urgent administration or staff issues.

As you know our church administrator Spencer Aguiar's father, John Aguiar, died suddenly. The office will be mostly closed for the next few weeks. However, the office phone voice mail and email will be monitored on an ongoing basis, and requests and questions will be answered.

God help us all

--- Pastor Ian

Winter Walk on February 9th

Please feel free to join our team for the 2025 Winter Walk on Boston Common on Sunday, February 9th. We will coordinate rides to and from Boston that Sunday morning, and we will walk with the team from Capuchin Mobile Ministries. Contact Amanda Grant-Rose for questions about the CMM ministry, or Janet Fischer to be part of the First Church team.

Coffee and Conversations have returned. Meeting at 9:10 am in the library. C&C is a time to connect with others in the church, And preview and unpack the scripture reading of the day. The group is run by lay leaders, as a collective.
