Join Sue and Scott Allman as they provide fresh cut flowers and two vases to create and assemble two Congregational Chancel Flower Bouquets. Sue and Scott will be in the link with buckets of fresh cut zinnias, tithonia, Black Eyed Susans, cosmos, etc. at 9:00 a.m. and ask you to select flower(s) and place them in the vases. The vases will then be placed in the chancel. You are also invited to take flowers home after the service. Thank you, Sue and Scott!

RISE Against Suicide helps youth at risk of suicide by removing the financial and social barriers to treatment, enabling them to find hope and healing. The LGBTQ+ & Allies Ministry, the Mental Health Ministry, and the Board of Missions and Justice in Action are sponsoring our annual Christmas in August to provide financial support for services as students return to school at a stressful time. Middle and High schoolers (and older) are invited to an introductory handbell session in the sanctuary on August 16 after the service. Come explore the fun in ringing together. On the third Sunday of each month the LGBTQ+ and Allies Ministry gather for food, fun, fellowship, and ministry business. Each person is responsible to bring their own lunch and drink. You can also bring a snack to share if you like. If you are a visitor on the third Sunday and want to join us, please see one of the pastors after the service and they will help you find the group. Boulder is considering a proposal to sell the Spruce Street parking lot to a hotel developer. This shared public space supports our worship, recovery groups, Mindful Works, concerts, children's music programs, and ministries serving our unhoused neighbors, as well as dozens of other organizations with whom we share our facilities. The Museum and four other congregations also rely on this space. Please take time to participate in saving the Spruce Street Parking lot by Signing and Sharing the Petition and write City Council! The City of Boulder is planning to sell the Spruce Street & Broadway parking lot, so we need you to help collect signatures on petitions letting the city know that this is not a good decision. We need people to volunteer to take 1-hour shifts to sit at the parking lot to invite people who use the parking lot to sign the petition. All materials will be provided. It’s time to show up and fill the room at City Council on Thursday, August 20. We want to show City Council that the Spruce/Broadway Public Parking Lot is too important to sell to a private developer to erect a 110-room hotel. Those 59 spaces are integral for worship services, community groups, local businesses, for seniors who need convenient level parking, and more. Returning this summer is our Family Camping Trip! As the summer closes, folks of all ages bring a tent and meet up at Rocky Mountain National Park for a weekend of restful joy. This year our theme is "What Every Living Thing Needs." Through nature, conversation, song, and community, we will explore and experience the interconnectedness of the

Together we'll explore preparing for the future, making difficult medical decisions, supporting caregivers, and how our congregation can accompany those living with dementia. Whether your family is affected now or you simply want to be better prepared, all are welcome. Rev. Dr. Lorraine Leist is the Associate Pastor for Congregational Care and Older Adults at Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church in Denver, CO. An ordained minister in the United Church of Christ, she was ordained at First Congregational Church, Boulder, where she has been a member for more than 15 years.

As part of our capital campaign, 3% (or $120,000, if we reach our goal) has been designated to strengthen our congregation's mission and social justice ministry. Join us for the first of two congregational conversations as we begin discerning together how these funds can best advance our work in the community. Together, we'll reflect on the needs we see, the priorities we share, and the voices we should be listening to before any specific funding proposals are considered. Following this forum, any member or Ministry may submit a brief proposal for funding based on criteria drawn from our conversations. We'll gather again on October 4 to discuss the proposals before a recommendation is made to Church Council and brought to the congregation for a final vote. Come share your questions, hopes, and imagination as we discern together how God is calling us to serve our neighbors. All are welcome. Childcare is provided.

Everyone is invited to our annual Fall Picnic following the 10:30 a.m. Welcome Back Worship Service on September 13. The picnic will be catered by Tocabe, a Denver restaurant serving authentic Osage recipes. Tocabe connects the growers, ranchers, and fisheries who feed Native communities to anyone who wants to eat closer to the source. Menu: Golden house-made frybread piled with chicken, bison, beans, gluten free rice and toppings. No RSVP needed. ALL are invited.

Inspired by the rhythms of the Christian year, together we'll explore practices that cultivate resilient faith: waiting with hope, living with wonder, embracing renewal, receiving God's gift of rest, finding joy that dances even in the darkness, and discovering God's presence in the ordinary days of our lives. We'll begin with dinner Friday evening and conclude Sunday morning after worship. A Saturday-only option is available.
