Celebrating Colorado’s 150th Anniversary

Matthew 5:13-16

10:00 a.m. – Worship: Sanctuary and Online

11:00 a.m. – Coffee Hour – The Link

11:15 a.m. – Forum – Every Voice Matters | Plymouth Hall

11:15 a.m. – Young Adult Bible Study | Conference Room

Join us on August 2, 2026, as we celebrate Colorado’s 150th Anniversary. During the worship service, the Congregational Bells will perform a commissioned piece by Nathan Kleve based on the Colorado state song, “Where the Columbines Grow.” Church Historian Chris Cooper will share the history of First Congregational Church and how its story has intersected with Colorado’s founding and growth. Eric Malmborg, local historian and former history professor, will then offer reflections on the broader story of westward settlement and its impact on Indigenous peoples. Come discover how God calls us to be a voice of love, justice, and reconciliation for Colorado.

Nursery is open at 9:45 a.m. for children ages 0-5.

All Children and Youth are staying through worship this weekend. There will be activity bags in the narthex for children to take back to their pews.

Mental Health Sunday Worship

Sunday, 8/9, 10:00 a.m. | The Sanctuary

In 2014 First Congregational Church voted as a congregation to become a WISE Congregation, committing to be Welcoming, Inclusive, Supportive, and Engaged in mental health matters. Each year we dedicate one worship service to our WISE Covenant to be reminded of how to better live into that covenant. This year our Mental Health Sunday Worship Service is August 9 at 10:00 a.m. We will examine our WISE Covenant and hear one member’s testimony about their mental health journey. Join us so all in the congregation can commit to being active in being part of a WISE Congregation.
