RISE Against Suicide helps youth at risk of suicide by removing the financial and social barriers to treatment, enabling them to find hope and healing. The LGBTQ+ & Allies Ministry, the Mental Health Ministry, and the Board of Missions and Justice in Action are sponsoring our annual Christmas in August to provide financial support for services as students return to school at a stressful time. Boulder is considering a proposal to sell the Spruce Street parking lot to a hotel developer. This shared public space supports our worship, recovery groups, Mindful Works, concerts, children's music programs, and ministries serving our unhoused neighbors, as well as dozens of other organizations with whom we share our facilities. The City of Boulder is planning to sell the Spruce Street & Broadway parking lot, so we need you to help collect signatures on petitions letting the city know that this is not a good decision. We need people to volunteer to take 1-hour shifts to sit at the parking lot to invite people who use the parking lot to sign the petition. All materials will be provided. The search for our next associate pastor has begun. Our church profile was submitted to and approved by the conference office. It has been posted on the UCC Ministerial Opportunities page! Interested candidates will submit ministerial profiles indicating their self-assessment of gifts and skills in ministry. These will be reviewed as received by the Search Committee. The review and discussion of candidate profiles is completely confidential. However, a general update about where we are in the process will be shared from time to time.

Middle and High schoolers (and older) are invited to an introductory handbell session in the sanctuary on August 16 after the service. Come explore the fun in ringing together. No previous experience needed. This session is led by some of our expert ringers in the congregation. For questions, email Kajsa.

Returning this summer is our Family Camping Trip! As the summer closes, folks of all ages bring a tent and meet up at Rocky Mountain National Park for a weekend of restful joy. This year our theme is "What Every Living Thing Needs." Through nature, conversation, song, and community, we will explore and experience the interconnectedness of the

Following worship, in which Rev. Dr. Lorraine Leist will preach, join Lorraine and Dr. Jean Abbott for a practical, compassionate conversation about facing dementia with wisdom, courage, and hope. Together we'll explore preparing for the future, making difficult medical decisions, supporting caregivers, and how our congregation can accompany those living with dementia. Whether your family is affected now or you simply want to be better prepared, all are welcome. Rev. Dr. Lorraine Leist is the Associate Pastor for Congregational Care and Older Adults at Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church in Denver, CO. An ordained minister in the United Church of Christ, she was ordained at First Congregational Church, Boulder, where she has been a member for more than 15 years.
