Hymn of Praise Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, v 1,4,5 (UMH #139)
Praise to the Lord, the Almighty,
 the King of creation!
O my soul, praise him, for he is thy
 health and salvation!
All ye who hear,
 now to his temple draw near;
Praise Him in glad adoration.

Praise to the Lord, who doth nourish
 thy life and restore thee,
Fitting thee well for the tasks that are
 ever before thee.
Then to thy need
 God as a mother doth speed,
Spreading the wings of grace o’er thee.

Praise to the Lord,
 O let all that is in me adore him!
All that hath life and breath,
 come now with praises before Him.
Let the amen
 sound from his people again,
Gladly forever adore him

Prayer of Intercession

Prayer of Confession
Merciful God, we give thanks for the watchful eye of Christ, who sees our longing hearts and graciously extends the gift of redemption. In light of this gift, Lord, we recognize our tendency to desire the treasures of this world much too deeply. Forgive us for the dishonesty, selfishness and greed that often marks our attempts to get ahead, and for the injustice and oppression that results.
Create new hearts in us, O God, such that we desire Jesus: the way, the truth, and the life above all things, and that the world may see the joy of your salvation. Amen.

Prayer Shawl Blessing
Pastor: God of love and comfort, today we celebrate the Prayer Shawl ministry of our church. We give thanks for those who have worked and prayed out of love and concern for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are in need. We ask now that these shawls would bring comfort to those who will receive them.
Pastor: These shawls were made to bring warmth to those who are cold and lonely.
People: May they feel the warmth of the Holy Spirit as they wrap themselves in these shawls.
Pastor: These shawls were made to bring comfort to those who are fearful.
People: May they feel comfort knowing that someone prayed for them as the shawl was knit or crocheted.
Pastor: These shawls were made to bring peace and healing to someone in need of prayer.
People: May they feel the power of prayer as they feel the yarn winding through their fingers.
Pastor: These shawls were made to remind the recipient of God’s love and grace.
People: May they feel touched by our love and held up by our prayers.
Pastor: God of grace and love, we thank you for putting those in need on our hearts and in our minds so that we might live out your call to love and serve. We ask your blessing upon these shawls and those who will receive them. May they feel the love, comfort and peace of your presence. Amen.

HymnWhen I Survey the Wondrous Cross, v1,2,4 (UMH #298)
When I survey the wondrous cross
 on which the Prince of Glory died,
my richest gain I count but loss,
 and pour contempt on all my pride.

Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
 save in the death of Christ, my God;
all the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to his blood.

Were the whole realm of nature mine,
 that were an offering far too small;
love so amazing, so divine,
 demands my soul, my life, my all.

HymnTake My Life and Let It Be (UMH #399)
Take my life, and let it be
 consecrated, Lord, to thee.
Take my moments and my days;
 let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Take my hands, and let them move
 at the impulse of thy love.
Take my feet, and let them be
 swift and beautiful for thee.

Take my voice, and let me sing
 always, only, for my King.
Take my lips, and let them be
 filled with messages from thee.
Take my silver and my gold;
 not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect, and use
 every power as thou shalt choose.

Take my will, and make it thine;
 it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is thine own;
 it shall be thy royal throne.
Take my love, my Lord, I pour
 at thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be
 ever, only, all for thee.

Benediction
