Hymn of Praise Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah (UMH #127)
Guide me, O thou great Jehovah,
 pilgrim through this barren land.
I am weak, but thou art mighty;
 hold me with thy powerful hand.
Bread of heaven, bread of heaven,
 feed me till I want no more;
 feed me till I want no more.

Open now the crystal fountain,
 whence the healing stream doth flow;
Let the fire and cloudy pillar
 lead me all my journey through.
Strong deliverer, strong deliverer,
 be thou still my strength and shield;
Be thou still my strength and shield.

When I tread the verge of Jordan,
 bid my anxious fears subside;
Death of death and hell’s destruction,
 land me safe on Canaan’s side.
Songs of praises, songs of praises,
 I will ever give to thee;
I will ever give to thee.

Prayer of Intercession

Prayer of Confession
Amazing God, you continually provide for humankind through all your wonderful deeds, covering us with mercy, forgiveness, and love. You cast out evil and bring new life from chaos, showing us the power of your works time and time again. And yet, we are slow to comprehend your authority and provision. We refuse to acknowledge your gifts and we disregard your teachings. Forgive us, we pray. As we confess our sins, in thought, word or deed, may your redemptive presence renew our lives such that we may glorify your name forevermore. Amen.

Hymn‘Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus, verses 1,3,4 (UMH #462)
‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
 and to take him at his word;
just to rest upon his promise, and to know,
“Thus saith the Lord.”
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust him!
 How I’ve proved him o’er and o’er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
 O for grace to trust him more!

Yes, ‘tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
 just from sin and self to cease;
just from Jesus simply taking
 life and rest, and joy and peace.
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust him!
 How I proved him o’er and o’er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
 O for grace to trust him more!

I’m so glad I learned to trust thee,
 precious Jesus, Savior, friend;
and I know that thou are with me,
 will be with me to the end.
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust him!
 How I’ve proved him o’er and o’er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
 O for grace to trust him more!
