Proclamation of the Resurrection – Mark 16:1-8
Introit – Victory - Ring of Faith
Hymn of Resurrection – Christ the Lord is Risen Today, v1-4 (UMH #302)
Christ the Lord is risen today,
Alleluia!
Earth and heaven in chorus say,
Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high,
Alleluia!
Sing, ye heavens, and earth reply,
Alleluia!
Love’s redeeming work is done,
Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won,
Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids him rise,
Alleluia!
Christ has opened paradise,
Alleluia!
Lives again our glorious King,
Alleluia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting?
Alleluia!
Once he died our souls to save,
Alleluia!
Where’s thy victory, boasting grave?
Alleluia!
Soar we now where Christ has led,
Alleluia!
Following our exalted Head,
Alleluia!
Made like him, like him we rise,
Alleluia!
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies,
Alleluia!
Call to Worship:
Pastor: Alleluia! Christ is Risen!
People: Christ is Risen indeed!
Pastor: Shout joyful praises to God, all the earth!
Sing about the glory of his name!
Tell all the world how glorious he is.
Say to God: “How awesome are your works!”
People: Everything on earth will worship you;
they will sing your praises,
shouting your name in glorious songs.
Pastor: Come and see what our God has done,
What awesome miracles God does for his people!
Easter Prayer (All)
O Glorious God,
By the resurrection of Jesus Christ you broke the power of death
and opened the way to eternal life.
As the empty tomb stands witness to his triumph over death,
make your church to be a bold testimony to his enduring victory in life,
such that all we do may proclaim to the world “He is risen, indeed!”
Through Christ, who lives with you and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

Easter Affirmation and Confession of Faith
(Based on I Corinthians 15 and Colossians 1)
Pastor: This is the good news which we have received, in which we stand, and by which we are saved:
People: Christ died for our sins, was buried, was raised on the third day, and appeared first to the women, then to Peter and the Twelve, and then to many faithful witnesses.
All: We believe in Jesus the Christ, the Anointed One of God, the firstborn of all creation, the firstborn from the dead, in whom all things hold together, in whom the fullness of God was pleased to dwell by the power of the Spirit.
Christ is the head of the body, the Church, and by the blood of the cross reconciles all things to God. Amen.
Hymn – Up From the Grave He Arose, v 1,3 (UMH #322)
Low in the grave he lay, Jesus my Savior,
waiting the coming day, Jesus my Lord!
Up from the grave he arose,
with a mighty triumph o’er his foes;
He arose a victor from the dark domain,
and he lives forever, with his saints to reign.
He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!
Death cannot keep its prey, Jesus my Savior;
He tore the bars away, Jesus my Lord!
Up from the grave he arose,
with a mighty triumph o’er his foes;
He arose a victor from the dark domain,
and he lives forever, with his saints to reign.
He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Hymn – He Lives v1,3 (UMH #310)
I serve a risen Savior,
he’s in the world today;
I know that he is living,
whatever foes may say.
I see his hand of mercy,
I hear his voice of cheer,
And just in time I need him,
he’s always near.
He lives… he lives…
Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me
along life’s narrow way.
He lives… he lives…
salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know he lives?
He lives… within… my heart.
Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian,
lift up your voice and sing
Eternal hallelujahs to
Jesus Christ the King!
The hope of all who seek him,
the help of all who find;
None other is so loving,
so good and kind.
He lives… he lives…
Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me
along life’s narrow way.
He lives… he lives…
salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know he lives?
He lives...within...my heart.
