GCC Events & Announcements

The Human Resources Committee would like some extra help with Coffee Hour this coming Sunday, November 26th. Thank you!

Thank you to everyone that contributed to our Thanksgiving Food Drive. We collected 71 bags and helped more than 46 local families, as well as the Carey House and New Beginnings!

Memorial Service

Chris Resca's brother, Bill Lesslie passed away. A Memorial Service will be held here this Saturday, November 25th at 11 am.

It's time to start preparing for this year's Christmas Fair, being held on Friday, December 1st, 4-6 pm and Saturday, December 2nd, 9 am-1 pm.

Jewelry and White Elephant donations can be dropped off at the church anytime.

Steve Melbourne is spearheading the Christmas Fair and could use help with setup (November 26th after church) and with the sale itself on Friday & Saturday. Please contact him at 603-455-2322.

Holiday Baked Goods are needed for Friday and Saturday, along with some extra hands to sell both days as well. Please contact Diane Lyons if you are available to help out, 603-852-2422 or [email protected]

Nametags

We would like our members to please wear your nametags during the month of November. If you need a new nametag, please contact May Stewart or Melissa in the church office.

Reiki

Judy Cook will be offering Reiki after church in the Gathering Room on Sunday, December 10th.

Coat Drive

We are collecting clean coats with working zippers, to be given to the Laconia Police Department for the homeless. Drop box outside of the Sanctuary.

2024 Calendar & Notebook Collection

Irene Johnson is once again collecting calendars, notebooks and pens to distribute to the Meals on Wheels recipients. Items can be dropped off in the church office. Thank you!

First Aid Kits Needed

The Laconia Police Department has requested more First Aid Kit donations that contain the following items:

Reclosable sandwich bag (6.5in X 5.875in)

1 pair of gloves

1 mask

Hand sanitizer

Band-Aids

1 inch rolled bandage

5 gauze pads

First aid tape

1 Sanitary napkin (blood absorption)

Antiseptic wipes- individual ones

There is a collection box in the lobby, outside of the Sanctuary.

GCC Youth Updates

Friendsgiving 2023

We had such a wonderful night. 9 families, 36 people. It was FUN!!!

Youth Night Out Cookie Fun

Join us as we make lots of cookies for the annual Santa Land Event. Pizza and drinks will be provided for dinner.

Location: Gilford Community Church Kitchen/Mason Room

December 3rd 6:00-7:30 pm

Annual Tree Lighting Service

Join us as we kick off our holiday season by lighting the Christmas tree, singing carols, followed by a brief service led by our youth. After the service cookies and hot chocolate will be served in the Fellowship Hall.

This week, we worked on a project, "Don't Worry, Be Thankful."

Here are pictures from our confirmation class visitation to the Jewish Temple B'nai Israel in Laconia. It was a wonderful experience.
