GCC Pastor Search Committee Update

Pastor Search Committee

Congregation Update

Although we all wish Michael all the best as he looks ahead to his retirement in the middle of next year, we cannot help but be saddened at the prospect of not having our beloved Pastor here with us. Although a seemingly impossible task – we need to start the process of finding Michael’s replacement. To that end the Church Council has appointed the following Church Members as the Pastor Search Committee: Lynne DeVivo, Melissa Fullerton, David Gingrich, Janet Haley, Stacey Pate, Sue Ross, May Stewart, Rebecca Walkley and Howie Chandler as Chair. We are pleased to report that we have already had our first meeting and top of the agenda is to finalize a survey to be distributed to the entire Congregation. We are fortunate in that the Church Strategic Planning Committee has already prepared a great initial draft of what that survey will contain. We will be looking to get your thoughts about what qualities you would like to see in the ‘new’ minister. We are also looking to get your ideas about what you would like the future of our church to look like. Right now, our target date for the survey is early May. We will be updating you frequently as to the status of the ‘search’.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to any member of the Committee with any questions or suggestions that you have.

Online Church Directory

We now have a new Online Church Directory that you can view on either your phone or your computer. We have a large Congregation that is fortunate to be able to welcome New Members on a regular basis. Getting to know our New Members and making it easy for New Members to get to know long standing Members is a challenge. Our present printed Directory is always going to be limited by the cost and expense that it takes to try to keep it current, it will never be able to keep up with New Members and it was limited by its lack of photographs. Some of us can easily remember names, some can easily remember faces but many of us find that having both face and name together to be a huge help.

This is a FREE service offered to our members here at GCC!

-The Directory is secure. Only those who are listed in the Directory may obtain a password.

-You can submit your own photo or let us take your photo for you!

Below, you will find a slide show that will show you everything you need to get started!

Your Membership Committee knows that some of you are over 40 and unlike your grandkids, you might require some assistance with setting this all up. We are glad to help! Just let Melissa know and we can set up a time to meet you after Church or to make a home visit!

We look forward to ‘Seeing’ you in the new Directory!

Please do not hesitate to call with any questions,
