Downtown Burlingame, near the Main Library

The 15th Annual Ryan Phua Memorial Kids' Bike Ride will be held in Downtown Burlingame near  the Burlingame Main Library on Sunday, June 10. 

The race course will be closed to car traffic from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Parking will also not be allowed on course streets from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. In the interest of safety, illegally parked cars will be towed. Please park all vehicles outside the race course the night before.

What can I do with used aerosol cans?
If the aerosol can is full or partially full, it is considered a household hazardous item and can be dropped off at the County's collection facility ( schedule an appointment here) or at a collection event. If the aerosol can is empty, it can go in the blue recycling bin.

Are the Keurig K-Cups recyclable?
No, please put K-Cups in the black garbage bin.
 
What should I do with juice packs?
Juice packs (made by Tetra Pak) are not recyclable and belong in the garbage bin.

crossingCPUC Places Broadway Crossing at Top of List

Please read below for an excerpt of a letter from the California Public Utilities Commission:

"A proposed decision issued last week by the CPUC puts Burlingame's Broadway crossing at the top of the state's Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Grade Separation Fund Priority List, as required by Streets and Highways Code Section 2452 .
 
The proposed decision will be up for adoption at the Commission's June 21 business meeting. If approved, the list will be furnished to the California Transportation Commission, which has delegated its responsibility to the California Department of Transportation, and is a mechanism to start the co-funding process with other groups, such as the JPB, CAHSRA, or local Transportation Authority.

Start your Summer with the Annual Pancake Breakfast & Summer Reading Kick-off Celebration!
Saturday, June 9,

Start your summer this Saturday with two events that will be fun for the whole family! Join the firefighters of Burlingame, Hillsborough, and Millbrae at Central County Fire Station 34 for an epic Annual Pancake Breakfast starting at 8:00 a.m.   There will be live music by the Green Room Music Spring Concert, raffles, and a silent auction.  

And after the breakfast, you can head over to the Burlingame Library for the Summer Reading Kick-off Celebration.  While you pick up your Summer Reading Club materials, you can enjoy face painting, refreshments, and crafts!

This event is free and open to all ages. There will also be an opportunity to pick up additional summer reading books for all ages. This event is funde d by the Burlingame Library Foundation. 
Music in the Park
Every Sunday in July 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Washington Park, 850 Burlingame Ave.
 
The Music in the Park concert series is brought to you by Burlingame Parks and Recreation Department and Veolia Water.  All concerts are free!   Bring your chair or blanket. Food, beer and wine will be available for purchase. There will be face painting, a food vendor and other sweet treats. Also, the Burlingame Art Society will be on-site hosting open houses at each concert to display some of their amazing artwork. Shred & E-Scrap Recycling Event
Saturday, June 30, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Caltrain Parking Lot "O", 290 California Dr.

Bring paper documents and confidential materials for safe and secure shredding done onsite. Limit THREE standard size bankers boxes (10"x12"x15") per household. Shred events last until the time listed or until the truck is full, whichever comes first. 

Accepted e-scrap items include: TVs, computers, printers, monitors, laptops, cables/cords, cell phones, MP3 and DVD players, and more (working or not). 

Unacceptable Items include: household appliances like fans, floor heaters, smoke detectors, vacuum cleaners, cooktops, dishwashers, microwaves, ovens, stoves, refrigerators, freezers, or any household hazardous waste. Proof of Burlingame residency is required.
