Maplewood Community Center at DeHart Park
The Library Foundation, SOMA Action, SOMA Justice, Durand-Hedden House, Community Coalition on Race, ARC of Summit and Revolution NJ partner to present the Black History 101 Mobile Museum - an award winning collection of over 10,000 original artifacts of Black memorabilia dating from the trans-Atlantic slave trade era to hip-hop culture.

Local student documentary film premiere
Join the Maplewood Library and South Mountain Film Academy for the premiere of "The Maplewood Theater: The Show Must Go On," a short documentary shot and produced by the program’s Winter 2026 Documentary class. Made by local middle schoolers, the documentary explores the history of the Maplewood Theater and features interviews with local officials, business owners, and residents about the much-anticipated return of the movie theater, which closed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Following the event, there will be a Q&A with Christopher Cassidy, founder of the South Mountain Film Academy, and the student documentary filmmakers. A seasoned filmmaker, Cassidy will talk about how to navigate a career in the industry as well as New Jersey’s rising reputation as the “Hollywood East.” Members of the Maplewood Film Society will also be on hand to answer questions.
Admission is free. Attendance is first come, first served.

Beyond the Game: Navigating the Path to College Sports Eligibility
This Zoom presentation by Ariadne College Advisors provides a comprehensive roadmap for high school families aiming for collegiate athletics. It demystifies the complex relationship between high school transcripts and college locker rooms.
