Sunmark Foundation Partners with Beekman 1802 for a Summer of Kindness
Sunmark Credit Union and the Sunmark Charitable Community Foundation have partnered with Beekman 1802, a company founded by an act of kindness, to celebrate the “Summer of Kindness."

Starting in May and running all summer, children up to age 12 are invited to “deposit kindness” by submitting their ideas on how they would spread kindness where they live. A Kindness Crew – comprised of Sunmark Credit Union and Beekman 1802 employees, and Sunmark Charitable Community Foundation volunteers – will review all submissions and select ideas to become Kindness Projects. These projects will be fulfilled throughout the summer, with the Kindness Crew working together with the child who submits the form to bring their ideas to life and spread kindness in their community. Sunmark Volunteers Participate in 5.18 Day to Support United Way
Sunmark and the Sunmark Charitable Community Foundation were proud partners of the United Way of the Greater Capital Region 518 Day. Our team worked on projects on behalf of Habitat for Humanity Capital Region, Community Hospice, and Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area. We also helped stuff the CDTA bus benefitting the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants.

518 Day provides opportunities for individuals, families, and groups to be part of solutions to building a more resilient Capital Region through volunteerism and community impact. We were thrilled to join so many individuals and community organizations to support 518 Day.
The Foundation Supports the 2021 Youth of the Year Awards
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area honored and celebrated the area’s most inspiring teens with the Youth of the Year Competition presented by Sunmark and the Sunmark Charitable Community Foundation. The Youth of the Year program winners were selected for their outstanding leadership, service, academic excellence, and dedication to living a healthy lifestyle. The Sunmark Foundation awarded five youth for their achievement.

Jerry Ford, a senior at Troy High School, received the first place $250 cash prize. Jerry will be attending Hudson Valley Community College in the fall and has been a member of the club for 13 years. Four finalists each received a $100 cash prize.
