The Sunnen SH-6000 Honing System |
The SH-6000 KROSSGRINDING® machine delivers the next generation of bore sizing and finishing machines with ultra-accurate size control. This new honing system will be on display at the Sunnen booth at IMTS 2016.
Building on Sunnen's 25-year heritage of the successful high-precision CGM and KGM series KROSSGRINDING
®
machines, the SH-6000 delivers even higher precision roundness, straightness, bore size and finish than I.D. grinding, and with tighter tolerances.
The SH-6000 yields consistent and accurate bore size control tolerances to .00025mm (.000010") by utilizing diamond plated or metal bonded abrasive tooling for maximum performance.
"The SH-6000 is the result of a four-year development process acquiring global input with all aspects of the CGM and KGM machines analyzed for improvement," said Phil Hanna, Product Manager, Sunnen. "It is engineered for jobs requiring ultra-accurate size control, but we also improved operator productivity with a focus on easy setup and operation, as well as better reliability and simple maintenance."

Sunnen's new automated SHA-4000, the latest horizontal honing machine that handles high-volume processing of smaller parts, will debut at IMTS 2016, booth N-7400.
The SHA-4000
is a premium system for high-volume processing of gears, turbocharger bushings, cartridge valve components and pistol barrels, among others.
With the popular SH-4000 as a base, the SHA-4000 integrates Swiss automation to create a standard, robust, high-production system that requires minimal operator attention. The automation package consists of proven part handling technology combined with heavy-duty production part filtering, and the system is engineered to optimize productivity and flexibility with a focus on reliability and maintainability.
