Greetings Sunny Hills High School Community.
We have a new member of the Sunny Hills family. Welcome Amy Hernandez, a Licensed Vocational Nurse, who will help us with our students' needs. We are excited to have her as part of our team.
I am happy to say that Sunny Hills is resuming campus tours for prospective parents. Tours are available on Fridays from 10:30 until break at 11:02. Scott Rosenkranz, a long-time teacher at Sunny Hills has graciously stepped in to conduct the tours. His vast knowledge of the school and its history is a tremendous asset. Thank you, Scott!
Thank you to those who participated in the LCAP Surveys and the LCAP Focus Groups. The feedback was very helpful in moving forward with plans for next year. You are all an important part of the process of continual improvement.
Registration for classes in the 2022-2023 school year has been ongoing for the past 2 weeks and will continue into March. The counseling department has been very busy meeting with students to ensure that they have the classes needed to fulfill requirements for graduation. Visitations have been made to our feeder junior high schools and two evenings have been scheduled for 8th graders and their parents to finalize their course selections and complete the registration process. It is always a large task, but our counseling department makes it look easy. Thank you, counseling, for all you do!
We have received some good news from Chapman University’s Annual Holocaust Writing Contest. Katie Larson, whose teacher is Christina Zubko, Ed.D., is a finalist in this year’s competition. Congratulations to Katie!
Amy Wang, a senior at Sunny Hills High School is applying to the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. For over 57 years, this unique federal program has honored almost 8,000 U. S. Presidential Scholars, who have demonstrated leadership, scholarship, and contribution to school and community. We wish her the best as she goes through the rigorous application process.
