Happy November, Lancer Families:
Although it was a shortened school week due to the Staff Development Day on Monday, that did not slow down our Lancers. On Monday, we not only learned together as a staff, but we also celebrated several of our staff members for their years of service. We are so lucky to have such a great staff here on the Hill to help support student learning!
This week also saw our amazing Lancer Regiment perform their award-winning field show before a packed stadium at the District's Band Showcase on Wednesday night. The Regiment competes in Ontario this weekend - good luck, Lancers! PTSA hosted an evening meeting to celebrate our Reflections winners and participants along with our first quarter E^3 Award winners. We love celebrating our Lancers for all they do!
Lancer Athletics wrapped up their Fall seasons and now get ready for Winter competition. We are so proud of all of our Fall student-athletes! Here are some of the highlights from this past week:
-
Lancer Cross Country competed well in their league finals. Girls Frosh-Soph, Girls JV, and Boys JV all took 1st place. Boys Varsity and Boys Frosh-Soph took 3rd place, while Girls Varsity took 4th place. Boys Varsity qualified for CIF!
-
Our Boys Water Polo ended their season in Round 2 of CIF on the road at Temescal Canyon.
-
League champion Girls Tennis lost a tough first-round CIF matchup with Newport Harbor on a tiebreaker after another amazing season.
-
Golfers Lindsay Shin and Hailey Hong finished their outstanding season at the CIF Individual Championships at Skylinks GC this week.
ASB and our student clubs will support Pathways of Hope through our Thanksgiving Food Drive next week from November 9 through November 13. Donations will go toward making at least 50 baskets of Thanksgiving food items for Pathways to help those in need this holiday season. Clubs are being asked to contribute, but anyone is welcome to bring donations! Check with your club to see how you can participate.
Finally, Campus Tours have started going strong for prospective Lancer students and families. Tours take place every Friday at 10:00 AM, beginning in the main office. No reservation is required. It is a great opportunity for anyone to come see the amazing things our students get to experience here on the Hills.
As always, see below for more information about these events, as well as Bell Schedules, Tutoring, Calendars, Dates to Remember, PTSA Info, and so much more! Also, remember to check your email, the SHHS website, and SH social media often for more information.
Have a wonderful weekend!
