Happy Friday, Lancer Nation!

Even though this week was short, it did not stop our students from staying busy both in the classroom and on the athletic fields.

Freshman class elections were held this week and the Class of 2027 Cabinet was elected. Numerous clubs began holding their meetings this week after Club Rush last week. Girls' Volleyball, Golf, and Tennis continued their winning ways. JV Football came away with a win against Brea with Varsity Football at Brea tonight! Cross Country kept after it this week as well!

This week saw Sunny Hills once again recognized as one of the top high schools in the nation by US News & World Report! We are so proud of all that our Lancers accomplish here on the Hills year after year. In addition, we received a magical visit from Disneyland to acknowledge this special honor as well.

Finally, the SHHS award-winning Accolade newspaper was the only school in Orange County to be named as one of the 54 finalists in the nation in the prestigious 2023 Pacemaker competition. See the full article below.

SHHS Accolade Receives National Recognition

Honoring the nation’s best, the National Scholastic Press Association has named 54 scholastic student newspapers, newsmagazines, and specialty magazines published during the 2022-23 school year as finalists in its prestigious Pacemaker competition.

The staff that produced last year's issues of The Accolade school newspaper was named a Pacemaker finalist. Only 14 schools named are from California and The Accolade is the only one from Orange County!

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Boston on November 4.
