Happy Halloween Weekend, Lancers:
Last weekend, our Lancer Regiment finished in 1st place in their 5A Division! They also earned High Percussion and High Auxiliary awards, given to the highest-scoring groups in their division! We are so proud of all our Regiment members and that their hard work paid off! Good luck in your next round of competition on November 7!
Red Ribbon Week spirit days made for an amazingly fun time on the Hill this week! Lancers wore red, relaxed in their pajamas, and brought anything but a backpack. Today, Lancers came in costume to celebrate Halloween, and clubs passed out candy at lunch. It was great to see so many students participate in the days and show off their school spirit all week long!
This week also saw the annual COFA Fall Festival in the quad right after school on Wednesday. The quad was packed this year with the best turnout we have ever seen. We have such amazing Lancer artists! Tomorrow, our Ag Science pathways will hold their Farm Fest from 10:00-2:00 - stop by to meet our new llamas!
Lancer Athletics also had another busy week of high-level competition. Here are some of the highlights:
-
Our Boys Water Polo team defeated Ocean View in the 1st round of CIF Playoffs. Great job, boys! They go on the road to play at Temescal Canyon next Tuesday.
-
League champion Girls Tennis finished up league finals this week. Maya Orton, Cambria Dominguez, and Sydney Odipo took 1st place for Sunny Hills in singles and doubles, respectively. Ella Ward and Julianne Tubiera also finished in 4th place. Great job, ladies! CIF begins next week for the girls.
-
Golfers Lindsay Shin, Hailey Hong, and Isabelle Kim traveled to Bear Valley CC to compete in the CIF Central Regional Individual Tournament. Lindsay and Hailey are moving on to the CIF Individual Championships at Skylinks GC on November 5 for a chance to win the Individual CIF title. Good luck, ladies!
-
Tonight, Football finishes league play at 7:00 pm against Canyon at Fred Kelly Stadium in Orange. Go, Lancers!
-
Our Girls Volleyball CIF run came to an end after a hard-fought second-round loss to Foothill last weekend. Congrats on another amazing season, ladies!
Finally, remember that this Monday, November 2, is a Staff Development Day - no school for students! Enjoy the extra day off, Lancers, but know also that next Wednesday, November 4, is NOT a Late Start schedule.
As always, see below for more information about these events, as well as Bell Schedules, Tutoring, Calendars, Dates to Remember, PTSA Info, and so much more! Also, remember to check your email, the SHHS website, and SH social media often for more information.
Lancers, have a safe Halloween weekend and don't forget to turn back your clocks!
