Greetings, Lancer Families!
Even with a shortened week, there was a ton of activity once again this week, highlighted by our annual Open House on Tuesday night! It was standing room only in the gym once again this year as prospective 8th graders and their families came to see all the amazing academics, athletics, and activities here at Sunny Hills. Not only did they get to see our academic and athletic programs, but they also heard outstanding speeches from current students about their experiences here. What a great night to showcase everything that our Lancers have access to here that helps make Sunny Hills one of the top schools in both the county and state!
Sunny Hills Athletics is excited for its brand new all-weather track and field coming next year! This is going to add to the extraordinary atmosphere here on the Hills for our student-athletes. You can see early renditions of the field below. Lancers also showed out well this week in athletics as Girls Basketball notched a big league victory over Brea and a 17-6 victory for Girls Water Polo over Esperanza on Senior Night. This last weekend also saw outstanding performances by our Wrestlers in their tournaments, too. Esports played and won their first match in their new Coding and Gaming computer lab this past week as well. Keep it up, Lancers!
I want to congratulate our Employees of the Year, who were chosen by their fellow staff members and announced this week:
-
Guidance Secretary Michelle Rizzi - Classified Employee of the Year
-
Social Science Teacher Hera Kwon - Certificated Employee of the Year
As always, so many amazing things are going on here at Sunny Hills. Next up is our annual International Day on Friday, February 6th, which includes our International Assembly and Food Fair. Definitely one of the highlights of the year!
Finally, be sure to watch this week's episode of Sunny Side Up below, as well as scroll down for more information about this past week, the week ahead, and so much more! Also, remember to check your email, the SHHS website, and SH social media often for more important information as well.
Have a great weekend!
