Who Lives In Our Community?
Amid the Coronavirus, COVID-19, outbreak it is most important for the HOA to know who is residing in the neighborhood.
Without a current and accurate list of those living in the Sunrise Presidio Village, including lot owners and rental tenants, we do not know who is actually occupying homes in the community.

In accordance with our CC&R's, property owners leasing their Lot are to notify the Board by filling out the provided online form, Lease Notification to Association .

We ask homeowners to notify the board of house addresses they believe are rented and/or occupied by others who are not the owner. This will give us the opportunity to update our records.

Please contact the board, info@sunrisevillage.org or use the website online Contact Us form.
Board Position Opening
Presently, there is an opening on the SPV Board of Directors for a volunteer to serve a board appointed position. We encourage homeowners to get involved and contribute to their community.

This is your opportunity to be an important voice in maintaining property values and the integrity of the association.

As a Board Member you will:
  • attend four regular board meetings a year that usually last one hour.
  • put in 40 to 50 hours of your time per year.
  • serve on at least one committee.

Board members provide direction of the HOA. Each committee has a Board member chairman who is responsible for communicating to the Board.

Please send a short history of your experience and why you would like to be on the Board of Directors to info@sunrisevillage.org or use the website online Contact Us form.
Committee Reports
ROADS - Steve Fister, chair. This committee is responsible for monitoring the condition of HOA roads and drainage areas that may impact the roads as well as the maintenance and repairs.
This coming Spring, when the weather is warm, four roads will be scheduled to receive PolyChip resurfacing:
  • Paseo Bocoancos
  • Paseo Del Tupo
  • Paseo Imuris
  • Paseo Remedios
A cost estimate is being prepared for PolyChip of Paseo Sonyota along with any repairs/ patching that need to be made prior to PolyChip. The committee is also continuing to work on erosion control.
Please e-mail your questions/comments/ideas to the Road Committee at roads@sunrisevillage.org
ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW - Steve Cantsey, chair . This committee reviews and approves plans (with the Board) for the construction and structural changes of home exterior improvements.
The committee reported numerous emails and phone calls for projects in the HOA. Projects include two solar installations, currently working on two more solar installations approvals and waiting on paperwork to be approved next quarter. Last quarter approved privacy decorative enclosure screen area to hide a small travel trailer on Paseo Sonoyta to meet CC&R's. Had property surveyed and found the area for the enclosure encroaches into side yard setback.

LANDSCAPE - Richard Goldsmith, chair. The primary purpose of this committee is preserving and enhancing the environment of the common areas.
You may have noticed the new landscaping service, Infinity Earthworks, Inc., doing great work around the Sunrise Presidio Village community .
As we move into Spring, the committee asks residents to help  in their efforts to reduce and control desert mistletoe growing rampant in our community; a partial parasite that feeds off host plants such as mesquite and palo verde trees.

Desert mistletoe is leafless and grows in dense clusters of brittle, jointed stems. Often looks like a dense nest or hive hanging from branches.

Mistletoe is easy to spot as it is unlike the rest of the tree.

The committee continues actions in reducing fire fuel load:
  • manage the growth of non-native invasive grasses (buffelgrass and fountain grass) in common areas. These grasses support hotter fires.
  • reduce the dead wood from the common areas.
  • manage areas of clustered dry shrubs and other dense vegetation in the common areas.

Updates
Security:  Since last quarter reporting of grocery carts, transient camping in the wash and mail box thefts, nothing further has occurred. So, that's good news!

Complaints: The HOA is continuing to send out 'Friendly Reminder' letters regarding CC&R compliance issues, and nearly all issues have been resolved.

You can bring issues to our attention by using the Contact Us form on the community website , or send to email info@sunriisevillage.org
