Kona Ice visits Sunset Ridge

Our Sun Run Reward was well earned! Students enjoyed a delicious Kona Ice while celebrating our end of year fun!

End of Year Medication Pick Up Information

Health Services requires that all medication be reclaimed from the health office by the parent/guardian or it will be discarded at the end of the school year. For safety reasons, we do not send any medication home with students. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to make arrangements for pick up of any remaining medication. We ask that emergency medications remain at school until the last day of school. If you are unable to pick your child’s medication up by the last day, please call the health office at 608-829-9347 to make other arrangements to avoid discarding the medication.

Include reading, writing and word study in your child's summer!

Summer is right around the corner! And while summer should involve a break with lots of fun, outdoor time and special activities, summer vacation should not mean a vacation from reading! It is critical for your child to continue reading on a consistent basis in the summer in order to prevent summer slide or regression! Check out this document for lots of authentic and fun ways to include reading, writing and word study in your child's summer!

Hello Sunset Ridge Families!

The summer brings some extra time and perhaps extra challenges to keep our children active.

I am sharing a wonderful Exercise and Reading Challenge for you as a guide or something that could be used on a regular basis.

It is a great resource of ideas and activities for your entire family to do together or to keep your children focused and active as well as continuing with their reading skills.

Happy end of the school year! Teachers have been working on some summer enrichment opportunities for you to have your kids do over the summer if you're interested. And, as always, all activities that expose kids to new things, new ideas, new vocabulary, and new experiences can help build background knowledge that will help them in the future.

Thank you all for your support of Sunset Ridge this year, I hope you have a wonderful and enriching summer, and I'll look forward to seeing you in the Fall!

If you're interested in a little fun after school lets out, one of my bands will be playing at the Memorial Union Terrace on Friday, June 9th from 7:00 - 10:00pm.

A Letter From The Library

Dear Sunset Ridge Caregivers,

Please help students return library books ASAP so the LMC can complete end-of-the-year inventory. The library does not charge for books, but if a book is lost or damaged please let the library know so it can be removed from a student’s record and reordered if necessary. There are links to eBooks, virtual bookshelves, and online resources available all summer long on the library’s Libguide: http://mcpasd.libguides.com/SRELMC. SUNSET RIDGE SENIOR WALK!

Students, staff and families gathered as they watched our fellow alum walk the halls. Our elementary students cheered and high-fived as the seniors walked through enjoying their memories of Kindergarten-4th Grade years at SSR.

Seniors then met with their former gym teachers Jay Redders & Tara Franklin and played a quick game of castle ball.

We wish nothing but the best for the soon to be graduates
