• Our Family Fun Night Concert is Tuesday, November 14th at 6:30 pm in the Sunset Ridge Gym.  This concert is free and open to the public.  Students should arrive at 6:10pm and pick-up their blue orchestra t-shirts in the Gym before the concert to wear at the performance. 

• We ask that a family member be willing to learn a piece with your student and perform it during this event with the only expectation being to have fun!

HR Imaging is a separate company that the district hires for photo days.

HR Imaging is outsources them to take photos. Sunset Ridge is not affiliated with the Human Resource department.

Sunset Ridge cannot answer any questions regarding ordering or guidance for Retake Day.

Any questions for ordering or guidance online should be directed to HR Imaging's customer service.

If anyone has any questions please contact The HR Imaging customer service directly. The customer service number can be reached at (815) 433-1766 and/or email custserv@hrimaging.com they will be happy to take care of any questions you may have.

HR Imaging has a "No Questions Asked" policy for retake day. If for any reason a student/parent is not happy with their pictures they may have a retake taken on Retake Day.

HR Imaging will never refuse a student who would like a retake, no matter the circumstances.

3rd and 4th Grade Families,

Sunset Ridge’s Morning Announcements have quickly become a hit with the school community! Sunset Ridge Elementary will begin hosting the “Sunset Ridge News Club” starting afterschool on Tuesday, November 28 and continuing weekly on Tuesdays from 2:45-3:45. 

This club is for 3rd and 4th graders to work on their media and tech skills, as well as public speaking.

WHO: 3rd and 4th Graders

START DATE: November 28

WHAT: News Club

WHERE: Tech Room

WHEN: every Tuesday after school from 2:45-3:45

A News Club Folder will be provided along with an expo marker and sheet protected documents for their “News Club Materials”. 

Lavender Sign up Forms will be going home with students tomorrow please have your families sign them and have the students return the forms to their teachers by Tuesday November 14th.

If you are NOT a 3rd and 4th grader, or cannot participate in the afterschool club, don’t worry, there will be other ways to get involved with the news that take place during regular school hours. Stay tuned to hear more!

Hello From Ms. Franklin!

I am so excited for our upcoming unit in P.E.!! 

We are doing a Speedstacking Unit which takes patience, hand-eye coordination, and focus. This group order will directly benefit our PE Program here at Sunset as a portion of the proceeds allow us to purchase more Speedstacks and PE equipment.

Greetings from the Library!

• The Library’s Libguide https://mcpasd.libguides.com/SRELMC/SSR has online resources for everyone to enjoy. 
• Your family may like to bookmark this on home devices. eBooks are available for student use anywhere and anytime, like while waiting for a class to start or on vacation. 
• This month there is a virtual bookshelf highlighting First Nations authors and illustrators during Native American Heritage Month.
• Ask your 3rd or 4th grade child to show you how students can log into Destiny to see what books they have out or search the catalog for books and place holds from home.
• Please help your Kindergarten or 1st grade child search around the house for library bags. Each student has 2 labeled XL Ziploc bags. They have a primary bag and a second “oops, I forgot bag” so students can still check-out 2 books on library day (usually Monday or Tuesday) and return their other bag the next day. We’re now out of no-name bags we lent out to students who misplaced their 2 bags and appreciate your help getting all the bags back to the library. 
• Thank you for enjoying library books with your children. As we went over in library class, the worst thing that can happen to a library book is it doesn’t get read. Students don’t need to return or renew unfinished books, just keep the book and return it when they finish reading it. We never charge late fees, just send families a reminder (email &/or paper) if books are out for 3+ weeks so they can return old books and get new books.
