Texas is slow to let go of the seasons and that makes it hard to feel the holiday spirit. The green of summer is finally leaving us as the trees are still holding tight to their leaves. It makes it hard to prepare for the coming new year and get ready for a fresh start.
This week with my heart in the past and my head moving into 2022 we will talk about the splits or Hanumanasana. Named after Hanuman the Monkey God of WInd. A yoga split is a posture to never force. When we try to force any posture to happen it could cause damage to the body. We can work toward the posture and decide if we feel compression or tension. If we have bone on bone compression we should not force the issue. If we feel the tension in the pose we can slowly work at our edge of comfort and we will gradually feel progress.
