As the Thanksgiving break comes to an end we hope everyone had time to recharge their battery and spend time with loved ones. We all have two families, the one we are born with and the one we make as we move through our life. Personally, I feel everyone is family as soon as they come through the doors of the studio. We all need a place to feel safe and welcome. We hope you feel that when you come into practice at Sunshine.
This week I finally put up our Christmas decorations and our Christmas tree. My heart is full as I feel all the memories and all of the holidays from the past with my birth family and the family I have built through the years. In honor of our tree, we will talk about Vriksasana or tree pose for our Sunshine pose of the week. Stand firm on one foot and raise the other to connect with the standing leg. Make sure not to put pressure on the standing knee. Your hands can come to heart center or lift into the air. It may look easy but this can be a challenging posture to master. Make it your own and post a picture on social media.
