Today, civic participation occurs at many levels. We make impactful decisions about our community every time we make a purchase, vote, post on social media and, of course, volunteer. We think any awareness we can bring to the many resources that might spur individual action for good, falls right in line with what we’re up to at HandsOn.

Super Bowl Sunday Celebrations across the Valley

It is an exciting time for the City of Phoenix as Super Bowl LVII will be hosted locally in Glendale, Arizona at the State Farm Stadium. Tune in to watch the Big Game Sunday, February 12 at 4:30 pm to watch the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs play it out. Check out the celebrations going on across the valley:

Before the Big Game starts get your tickets to the Super Bowl Experience at the Phoenix Convention Center! You can play in interactive games, get football superstar autographs, and shop your favorite players' jerseys at the NFL store from February 4th- 5th and February 9th- 11th.

Gear up for the 5-day celebration in Scottsdale for the Historic Old Town ESPN Main Street Tailgate. From Wednesday, February 8th - Sunday, February 12th people of all ages can enjoy live entertainment, swag giveaways, free food tastings, and so much more!

See State Farm Stadium from a different perspective! Rainbow Ryders Hot Air Balloon Ride Company is bringing football fans to new heights in the State Farm Stadium Fly Over!

Everyone deserves a Valentine! Decorate Valentines Day cards for older adults who are home-bound, isolated, or without a support system. Card Decorating will take place at the Glendale YWCA, Friday, February 10th from 10 am- 12 pm.

Help 2nd Graders Keep their Health on Track! We are in need of individuals who can teach 2nd graders a short 10 minutes lesson on healthy habits and fitness routines.

Come on out to see HandsOn's office for Craft and Clean! Spend Wednesday mornings helping us touch up Kids Care Kits to be distributed to local nonprofits to give out to kids in need.

Is there a cause or organization that you are passionate about? Do you want to make a change but can't hold a large commitment? Apply to be a Volunteer Leader! Our Volunteer Leaders host the projects posted to our Opportunity Calendar once a month!

HandsOn History

In 1993, Marty Moore (top left) started this organization under the name Make A Difference. Marty was a young real estate broker that had a heart for his community but struggled to find opportunities to volunteer that fit around his 9-5 job. Make A Difference created volunteer projects in the evenings and on the weekends to cater to those in the workforce.

In 2008, the organization changed it's name to HandsOn Greater Phoenix to align with other organizations in the Points of Light network, but remained committed to the same mission of putting volunteers to work where they're needed most.
