Soar Into City Market Tonight for Superhero Night! BAJA is Back & Ready to Rock!

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Superhero Night at Dixon City Market! Come down dressed up as a superhero or in your favorite comic book T-shirt or any other superhero-inspired outfit, and enter to win tickets and a T-shirt for Discover Dixon's Dement Town Music Fest! Drawing at 7:30! And BAJA is ready to bring it tonight – just like they always do – as they perform from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight!


Come celebrate getting through the first day of school and buy yourself something cool! Only a few more City Markets left to enjoy this summer!

Dement Town Music Fest Returns Sept. 7!

If you missed the boat last year, now’s your chance to redeem yourself! Dement Town Music Fest will return Saturday, Sept. 7 to the 600 block of Depot Avenue!


Hello Weekend, Burn ‘N Bush, and The Empty Pockets are ready to rock!


Local favorite Lil' Smoked Bar + Grill will have meals available to purchase, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Mary’s Diner will also offer great items to keep you fueled up, and PJ’s and Dement Town Tavern will be serving drinks that night, too!


There will be a mobile axe throwing station set up and the bags boards will be out for you to enjoy while you take in the music!


Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the gate. Gates open at 2 p.m., and the music will be bumping from 3 to 10! 


This event is all ages. Those 21 and older should be prepared to show ID in order to purchase alcohol. Picnic table seating will be available, but you can bring in your own chairs. Outside coolers will not be allowed.

Todd Lorenc Set to Serenade at the Square!

Todd Lorenc Ukulele Music is all set and ready to serenade you from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16 at John Dixon Park! He's a Music at the Square favorite – we know you'll enjoy! Come have a picnic in the park, let the kids play on the playground and enjoy some music! 🎶 Grab some custard before it's gone, courtesy of Culver's!

Enjoy the outdoors and enrich your Friday mornings with free sessions of Riverfront Yoga this summer!


Join at either 7 or 9:30 a.m. Friday mornings through August on the Riverfront!


This Discover Dixon series is presented by Midland States Bank. Sessions are free to attend, but please bring your own mat.

John Groshans Honored for Dedication

Discover Dixon, the City of Dixon, Beautify Dixon, and many other community members and officials gathered together Friday, Aug. 9 to celebrate John Groshans' dedication to our community with a monument that will honor his years of service for many years to come.


From Aug. 1, 2009 to Dec. 31, 2023 officially, John was the face of the Riverfront, keeping it beautiful day in and day out. He truly did turn his pride into a passion, and his commitment to our community will continue to be a shining example for all of Dixon.


Thank you, John, for your years of service to our community!

Registration Open for Ultimate Tailgate!

Come enjoy the Ultimate Tailgate Rib & Chili Cookoff! from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6 in the Beanblossom Parking Lot!


Watch the Bears take on the Panthers at noon on the big screen outside! Enjoy drinks specials, and live music, too!
