Results from the Climate and Culture Survey
Thank you to more than 500 participants who took our recent Thought Exchange survey regarding the culture and climate of the Brecksville-Broadview Heights City Schools. From families with children among our youngest students to high school age, parents had thoughts to share. Among the most important feedback is the fact that parents support maintaining a safe, inclusive climate and appreciate the strong academic foundation provided. Moving forward, parents wish to see ongoing improvements in how the school communicates progress and concerns, continued attention to physical and emotional safety measures, and working towards adjustable practices to ensure all students—regardless of background or ability—feel valued. By addressing these core themes—aligned with the district’s mission to Educate, Empower and Engage, the district can continue making progress toward its broader goals. Adhering to the Mission, Vision, and Core Values ensures that staff, students, and families thrive within an inclusive, high-achieving school environment. We thank everyone who took the time to participate in this culture and climate survey. Soon, the BBHCSD will release an in-depth summary of the feedback provided during all of our survey outreaches. Keep on the lookout for our next opportunity to provide input!

Congratulations Recent Tri-M Inductees
Off the floors of interscholastic competition, achievement continues as well. A round of applause is extended to this year’s Tri-M inductees, who were formally accepted into this highly esteemed organization during a ceremony late last month. Those students inducted took an oath to uphold the highest standards of music education, academic excellence, and character. Students are carefully selected upon entrance into Tri-M, meeting rigorous requirements among specific points of distinction, including scholarship, service, character, cooperation, and leadership in music. These individuals are future leaders in both music education as well as musical advocacy. Congratulations to this year’s Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School Tri-M induction class, and all the best in your future endeavors!

BBHHS Students to Have Work Displayed in Governor’s Youth Art Exhibit
Three of our very own art students will have their artworks on display for the annual Governor’s Youth Art Exhibit, which will run throughout the spring of 2026. Congratulations to Alyssa Jones, and her artwork entitled: Reaching Out, Hailey Mack, and her artwork entitled Surge of Emotion, and Ben Mehendale, for his piece entitled Made of the Mind. Ben’s piece also received a Top 25 commendation, the first from a BBHHS student since 2011. According to Andy Hansen, our visual arts teacher at the High School, one student’s artwork displayed in the Governor’s exhibit is an honor, whereas three artworks is an absolute uncommon achievement. Congratulations all!

BBHMS Proudly Represented at Annual Student Leadership Conference
A group of BBHMS students recently joined a select group of peers from area middle schools to attend the North Royalton Middle School’s Annual Leadership Conference. Several seventh and eighth grade representatives attended after having been selected for their strong character, demonstrating kindness and providing words of encouragement to students and staff at BBHMS. At the conference, students enjoyed breakfast, lunch, souvenirs, and had the opportunity to engage with special guest Andy Thibodeau, a motivational speaker, leadership trainer, and storyteller. The positive and high-impact message inspired the students to lead with confidence, resilience, and compassion. Congratulations to all participating students for setting a positive example and being a caring and uplifting presence at BBHMS!

Activities at BBH Elementary School Keep Students Creatively Engaged
Several events at the Elementary School have kept students creatively engaged, while learning in special settings. For celebrating the 100th day of school, students dressed up for what they thought an individual of such an "advanced age" might look like. Canes, shawls, gray-hair wigs, and top hats were all part of the learning and the fun. Our highly devoted BBHES PSO also hosted an important Math Night late last month, pairing students with their families in an evening activity underscoring the value of parental involvement in their education. The cafetorium was alive with various creative activities that strengthened participants’ approach to mathematics, while having fun, food, and family all involved. A special thank you to our HS volunteers, and as always, to our PSO, for such creativity and dedication to making learning a lifelong pursuit.
| The accomplishments, involvements, and high achievement of the students, staff, and families in this district is a testament to the commitment all have towards education. You are fulfilling our vision to be a destination school community. | |
