Dear Northwest ISD Families,
Spring is in the air and our much-anticipated Spring Break is here. Our students and staff have been working incredibly hard, and I know the weeklong break will be a well-deserved treat.
Encourage your student (and our teachers) to intentionally take time to relax, be a kid, and enjoy a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. When we return, we will jump right back into our work, rejuvenated and prepared to finish the school year with excellence.
Northwest ISD is gearing up for a busy time ahead. As our classrooms focus on finishing the semester, the district is already preparing for next school year. This spring, we have a lot of important work before us at a district level and are strategically evaluating student enrollment projections, staffing needs, and our budget.
If you had the opportunity to vote in the March 5 primary election, thank you for actively participating and for modeling civic engagement for our students. Click here to see the preliminary results of some of the positions representing Northwest ISD. Your next opportunity to vote will be the local election on May 4, which will include two seats on the Northwest ISD Board of Trustees as well as city elections. April 4 is the deadline to register to vote or to update your voter information if you have moved or changed your name. Active and informed participation is important as we work to build a culture of engagement and voting in Northwest ISD.
Whether you’re traveling or enjoying time at home next week, please be safe. I encourage you and your family to spend quality time together, have fun, and laugh. We look forward to our students’ return to class on Wednesday, March 20, following spring break and two days of staff professional development on March 18 and 19.
Have a safe and wonderful Spring Break!
Mark Foust, Ed.D.
