NISD Team,

I hope everyone is off to a great week. For those who have been COVID-free, we are hoping and praying you stay that way. For those of us who are dealing with COVID, we are hoping and praying for fast and complete recoveries. Let me again thank everyone for the support of our measures to hopefully slow the positivity rates for our students and our staff. As of today, our numbers are looking better, and we really do hope these actions will help us all turn the corner. 

Just as an FYI for everyone – all families and campus staff will receive a COVID update from their building principal(s) this evening. Our new COVID numbers and percentages will be updated and published on our dashboard this evening at 6 PM, and those numbers will also reflect the change in quarantine protocols for staff (going from ten to five required days). Each of our principals will inform their campus stakeholders of the COVID rating – Low, Moderate, or High – based on the school’s positivity rate. The principals will also remind all campus staff and families what the specific campus actions are for those ratings, so everyone will know going into tomorrow.

As we get ready to return to classes, everyone remember the #1 COVID rule for our schools – do not come to school sick. Please also be sure to complete the report form if your child (or you as a staff member) tested positive for COVID during our closure. Take care of yourselves and each other, and we will hopefully get back to “normal” school operations this semester. Be safe and thank you for your support!

Espero que todos hayan tenido una gran semana. Para aquellos que han estado libres de COVID, esperamos y rezamos para que continúen de esta manera. Para aquellos de nosotros que aún estamos combatiendo contra el COVID, esperamos y rezamos que tengan una recuperación completa rápidamente. Permítanme nuevamente agradecer a todos por el apoyo de nuestras medidas para, que, con suerte, poder reducir los casos positivos de nuestros estudiantes y personal. A partir de hoy, nuestros números se ven mejor, y realmente esperamos que estas acciones nos ayuden a todos a salir adelante.
 
Notas de información para todos: todas las familias y el personal de la escuela recibirán una actualización de COVID del director de su escuela esta noche. Nuestros nuevos números y porcentajes de COVID se actualizarán y publicarán en nuestro tablero esta noche a las 6 p. m., y estos números también reflejarán el cambio en los protocolos de cuarentena para el personal (que pasaron de diez a cinco días obligatorios). Cada uno de nuestros directores informará a las partes interesadas de su escuela sobre la calificación de COVID (baja, moderada o alta) según la tasa de positividad de la escuela. Los directores también recordarán a todo el personal y a las familias cuáles son las acciones específicas de acuerdo a las calificaciones de la escuela para que todos sepan mañana.
 
Mientras nos preparamos para regresar a clases, tengan en mente la regla número 1 de COVID en relaciones a las escuelas: no venga a la escuela enfermo. Es importante asegúrese de completar el formulario de informe si su hijo (o usted como miembro del personal) dio positivo por COVID durante nuestro cierre. Por favor, cuídense a sí mismos y a los demás, y con suerte volveremos a las operaciones escolares "normales" este semestre. ¡Cuídense mucho y muchas gracias por todo su apoyo!
