Instruction to be Delivered Completely Online for at Least the First Four Weeks of 2020-21 School Year
New Caney ISD will deliver instruction completely online for at least the first four weeks of the 2020-21 school year to best protect the welfare of our students and staff. Online instruction will begin Aug. 10 and run through at least September 4. This decision was made in accordance with recommendations by Montgomery County health officials and guidance provided by the Texas Education Agency.

The district is hopeful that a face-to-face learning option will be possible after Labor Day. The district will re-evaluate circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic as the school year begins. Decisions about beginning on-campus, face-to-face instruction will be made with the welfare of students and staff in mind first. The district will continue to work within the guidance provided by TEA as well as local and state health officials.

Also, the University Interscholastic League (UIL) has released a modified schedule for fall extracurricular activities. Practice and competition schedules for football, volleyball, and band have been delayed.

More information related to the start of school, distance learning, and extracurricular program updates can be found at www.newcaneyisd.org/back-to-school. Updates regarding the start of school will be posted on the district website and sent directly to parents through the district's notification system.
New Colors, New Mascots in 2020-21 for White Oak Middle School and Woodridge Forest Middle School
White Oak Middle School and Woodridge Forest Middle School will start the 2020-21 school year with new school colors, new mascots, and new logos as part of a middle school re-branding initiative in New Caney ISD that will continue in the 2021-22 school year for Keefer Crossing Middle School and New Caney Middle School.

The changes in color schemes and mascots come as the district continues to grow in student enrollment, and the construction of a third comprehensive high school is scheduled to be complete in 2022. To help drive school pride as the district grows, each middle school will have its own brand identity separate from high school colors and logos.
Construction Begins on Comprehensive High School #3
The site for the third comprehensive high school for NCISD has been cleared and rough grading is at 90 percent completion. The building pad is complete. The general contractor will start installing the concrete piers concurrent with the underground storm and sanitary systems. Watch this video of the land clearing.
Construction at Keefer Crossing Middle School is progressing as scheduled and is 33 percent complete. The structural steel installation is virtually complete and roof decking installation is 45 percent complete. The exterior masonry and steel framing has started along with the plumbing, electrical and HVAC rough-in work. The construction at Woodridge Forest Middle School is complete. Approximately 75 percent of the furniture, fixtures, and equipment has been delivered.
