Update from Norwin School District
Superintendent Dr. Jeff Taylor
March 24, 2021
Good afternoon,

Unfortunately, as of today, we have 7 positive cases of COVID-19 at the High School for people who were in school and infectious over the past 14 days. After a discussion this morning with the Pa. Department of Health, the epidemiologist has directed the District to close the high school after the instructional day ends today through Friday (two days) and cancel all sports and activities, both home and away, during the time of the closure.

Tomorrow and Friday will be remote with synchronous instruction days. Additional information will be provided to students and families by Dr. Choby and Norwin High School teachers.

Additionally, please be reminded that as per official school board action, the 2020-2021 school calendar was revised. One of the revisions included changing Monday, March 29th from a student instructional day to an Act 80 (in-service day) which is a non-student day. Therefore, Norwin High School students will return to in-person instruction after the spring break on Tuesday, April 6th.

If you have any specific questions regarding the COVID-19 related school closure, please contact our District’s Pandemic Coordinator, Dr. Heather Newell at hnewell@norwinsd.org.

Thank you for your continued patience and flexibility during these challenging times.

Best regards,

Dr. Jeff Taylor,
Superintendent
