Good Evening Falcon Families,
I know that this is an unusual start to the school year with lots of unanswered questions and needs. We’ve learned so much about district processes and procedures as we’ve worked through everything. I know this hasn’t been easy on anyone, but thank you for your questions, suggestions, and patience as we continue to figure out the myriad of changes for our staff, students, and families. Below is some clarifying information as well as reminders regarding times for events for tomorrow.
Chromebook Distribution
Tomorrow, Monday August 9th, will be another opportunity for parents to check out a Chromebook for their students for the school year. Parents, you do not need to pick up a Chromebook for your student if he/she has their own device. Everything is web-based this year and students will be able to access teaching and learning through Schools PLP.
Chromebook pickup:
MMES: 8-10am
FHMS: 8-10am
FHHS: 7-10am
Meet the Teacher night
The times for meet the teacher is as follows:
MMES: 1:00-3:00 pm (This information was sent out on July 31st) The links to the teacher’s individual classroom meet the teacher will be posted tomorrow morning. If you picked up your student’s Chromebook, all information was shared with links and login information.
FHMS: 2:00-3:15pm (Teachers in grades 4, 5, and 7 sent information out on Friday. 6 and 8 will be coming tomorrow morning.)
FHHS: 6-7pm (links shared in email sent on 8-9)
PowerSchool
Parents, this year the parent passwords were reset. We are working on a solution to get your new password to you. Until this happens, you can check your student’s information through their username and password. The new URL for the portal is FHUSD.powerschool.com
If your student transitioned from grades 3 to 4 and 8 to 9, their email account is different than it was last year. For middle school students, their new user name is as follows:
MMES: 102jsmith
FHMS: 104jsmith
FHHS: 205jsmith
First Day of School
Please watch the district website and Facebook as well as your email for up-to-date information from the schools on Tuesday’s first day of school. Tomorrow you will find links to Tuesday’s class meetings to get the school year started.
We wish you all a wonderful first week of (virtual) school and look forward to a successful 20-21 school year.
