Dear FHUSD Families and Friends,
The beginning of May is typically a time to rejoice since state testing is finally in the rear view mirror and summer plans are coming up on the horizon. But this year is truly like no other with the school closures and stay at home directive in effect for the past month now extended for two more weeks. Despite the recent dramatic upheaval in our lives, I hope Fountain Hills families have discovered some positive outcomes from this situation. While social distancing has been practiced with the wider community I hope it has led to greater appreciation for family connections within the home.
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week and our awesome FHUSD teachers deserve a hearty congratulations for their continued service. Whether their classroom is brick and mortar or a virtual world, they strive to provide the best possible education for our students. But as a reminder, FHUSD students should also give a big shout out to the parents who have contributed immensely to their learning over the last month. I often refer to the Fountain Hills Community in my messages and firmly believe the great things our students accomplish both in school and beyond are the results of an entire community effort and commitment to preparing them for the unforeseen challenges of today and tomorrow.
Additional thanks go out to Jeannie Ryan and the Golden Eagle Education Foundation for working with Euro Pizza to provide coupons that have recently been passed out at our breakfast/lunch distribution sites. For every coupon redeemed at Euro Pizza, the Foundation will reimburse the restaurant for the cost. The Foundation has been a longtime supporter of our educational programs and continues to find additional ways to support our students and families.
Finally I encourage everyone to take a look at the latest US News and World Report recognizing Fountain Hills High School as a top AZ high school

. Congratulations to Dr. Jagodzinski and his staff for this accomplishment.
I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe.
