SUBJECT:  Coronavirus Plan Update - Sunday, March 15, 2020
 
I appreciate everyone’s patience as we’ve worked this weekend to get plans in place for the next two weeks. Two main challenges are in front of us, which are: (1) feeding our kids while schools are closed, and (2) providing instructional opportunities during that time.  

For the first challenge, Northwest ISD will offer free meals to all students during this closure due to the novel coronavirus. From Monday through Friday, March 16 to 27, six district campuses will provide families, with students and children 18 and under, take-home breakfast and lunch meals. Breakfast and lunch will be distributed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the following campuses: Curtis, Justin, Love and Sendera Ranch elementary schools, and Chisholm Trail and Tidwell middle schools. Addresses for these campuses can be seen below.

When arriving to receive meals at the campus cafeteria doors, parents and students should remain in their vehicles as a precautionary health measure. Meals for consumption at home will be delivered to each vehicle.

We are also working on a plan to distribute student medication to parents and caregivers, and we will communicate that process very early next week.
The NISD Executive Team will be meeting on Monday to finalize the plan to provide instructional opportunities to all district students. Expect an email tomorrow regarding our plans for continued learning during the closure. Parents – we will need a lot of help in serving our kids with this plan, so we will definitely be partners over the next two weeks educating our children. Thank you in advance for your efforts.

Agradezco la paciencia de todos ustedes, ya que hemos estado trabajando este fin de semana prara establecer un plan para las proximas dos semanas. Tenemos dos desafíos principales frente a nosotros: El primero es, alimentar a nuestros hijos mientras las escuelas están cerradas y el segundo es proporcionar oportunidades de instrucción durante ese tiempo. 

Para el primer desafío, Northwest ISD ofrecerá comidas gratuitas a todos los estudiantes durante este cierre debido al nuevo coronavirus. Esto ocurrira de lunes a viernes, del 16 al 27 de marzo. Seis escuelas del distrito proporcionaran a las familias de estudiantes y ninos menores de 18 años, comidas para el desayuno y el almuerzo para llevar a casa.

El desayuno y el almuerzo se distribuirán de 10 a.m. a 1 p.m. en las siguientes escuelas: escuelas primarias Curtis, Justin, Love y Sendera Ranch, y escuelas intermedias Chisholm Trail y Tidwell. Esta es la lista completa de lugares a donde pueden asistir para recivir desayuno y el almuerzo:

Una vez los padres lleguen a las puertas de la cafeteria de las escuelas para recibir la comida, les pedimos a los padres y los estudiantes permanecer en sus vehículos como medida preventiva de salud. Las comidas para el consumo en el hogar se entregarán a cada vehículo individualmente.

También estamos trabajando en un plan para distribuir los medicamentos de los estudiantes a los padres o tutores de estudiantes. Les comunicaremos este proceso a principios de la proxima semana. 

El Equipo Ejecutivo de NISD se reunirá el lunes para finalizar el plan para proporcionar oportunidades de instrucción a todos los estudiantes del distrito. Espere un correo electrónico mañana sobre nuestros planes de aprendizaje continuo durante el cierre.
 Padres: necesitaremos mucha ayuda para apoyar a nuestros hijos con este plan, por lo que definitivamente tendremos que trabajar juntos durante las próximas dos semanas. Gracias de antemano por todos sus esfuerzos.
