Melican Students Arriving to School on the Day Before December Break.
Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s):

As we begin our December break, I want to wish families who observe Christmas a Merry Christmas. I also want to wish families a happy New Year. I’m hoping that 2022 will bring Northborough and Southborough families good health, a sense of calm, and happiness.

With the final days of 2021 upon us, it is clear that the COVID-19 variant Omicron is having an impact on the number of positive COVID-19 cases in our District. The District will be closely monitoring the cases over break and will adjust athletic schedules as required.

We realize testing is hard to come by and many sites are closed for the holiday. It is important for everyone, whether identified as a close contact or not, to monitor for any symptoms. If you develop symptoms, please stay home and test (PCR or home Antigen). The District is investigating offering COVID-19 testing for students, faculty, and staff later next week. We will communicate our plans for testing once they are finalized.

Respectfully,
Gregory L. Martineau
