NINA ISER JEWISH CULTURAL CENTER UPDATE |

As the construction of the Nina Iser Jewish Cultural Center is moving right along we are now starting the process of adding names to the Donor Wall located in the covered Loggia area as you walk through to the entrance doors.
All names will be listed in alphabetical order starting at contributions to the Capital Campaign at $500.00 and up. You have until June 30 to make your contribution and have your name(s) added to the wall.
There are several opportunities to make a contribution -
1. Naming Opportunity starting at $5,000 and can be pledged over 5 years
2. Engraved Brick Pavers $720 or $1,800
3. Write a check or credit card contribution of $500 and above
Every person that walks into our new building will see your name(s) on the donor wall. Jewish Federation of Greater Naples is about Community and our entire greater Naples Community has helped us build our new home.

Superman is the most famous character in the world. He’s the first superhero. An American icon. And he’s Jewish!
Introduced in June 1938, the Man of Steel was created by two Jewish teens, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the sons of emigrants from Eastern Europe. They based their hero’s origin story on Moses, his strength on Samson, his mission on the golem and his nebbish secret identity on themselves. They made him a refugee fleeing catastrophe on the eve of World War II and sent him to tear Nazi tanks apart nearly two years before the US joined the war.

Remix Judaism with author Roberta Rosenthal Kwall

Many American non-Orthodox Jews are not interested in Jewish practice and ritual. And many younger Jews have even less interest even in moderate observance than their parents. Left unchecked, this reality will sink the future of American Judaism.
Absent a sustained, deep connection to various elements of Jewish tradition, there will be increasingly fewer Jews to support synagogues and other important philanthropic initiatives of the American Jewish community. We can turn this around with more focus on helping non-Orthodox Jews deepen their connection to Judaism by finding personal meaning in selected practices. Religiously liberal Jews do not necessarily respond to the idea of Divine command but they will observe rituals they find personally meaningful. I call this “remixed” Judaism and it is of vital importance if Judaism is to remain more than just a matter of ancestry for the majority of American Jews.

He discovers young romance as well as the sad fact that people are not always what they seem. He is exposed to a wide range of experiences, both hilarious and terrifying. In short, he comes of age.
