Supervisor Matt LaVere Endorses
Supervisor Jeff Gorell for Re-Election
A Show of Bi-Partisan Support
Ventura County Supervisor Matt LaVere, 1st District, representing Ventura and Ojai and other west county communities, announced his endorsement of Chair of the Board, Supervisor Jeff Gorell, in his 2nd District re-election campaign.
“Supervisor Gorell has earned my support through his leadership, his commitment to civility, and his problem-solving work ethic that puts community above politics,” said Supervisor Matt LaVere. “We share a commitment to making county government more efficient, delivering the highest level of customer service to our residents, and continuously improving how we provide services across Ventura County.”
Gorell and LaVere have worked together on a range of key initiatives focused on strengthening county government and improving outcomes for residents.
Together, they advanced historic permitting and zoning reforms to streamline processes, reduce delays, and make local government more efficient and responsive to the needs of families, farmers, and small businesses.
They have also collaborated to support and expand access to the arts, recognizing the important role arts and cultural programs play in education, economic vitality, and community well-being. Their efforts have included supporting local arts organizations, programming, and community-based events that bring people together and strengthen Ventura County’s cultural landscape.
In addition, Gorell and LaVere have worked to address some of the region’s most complex challenges, including homelessness and mental health, with a focus on improving coordination, expanding access to services, and advancing practical, results-driven solutions aligned with the County’s strategic goals.
“It’s an honor to have the support of Supervisor LaVere,” said Gorell. “He is a thoughtful leader who genuinely cares about the people he serves. I’ve seen firsthand his commitment to our community and the care he brings to every decision. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work alongside him to improve county government and deliver real results for the residents of Ventura County.”
