Greetings Midtowners ~

It’s already October, and fall is officially here. In Ventura, the season arrives gently — with clear blue skies, crisp morning air, and golden sunsets at day’s end. How fortunate we are to live here!

This month’s general meeting will feature an engaging and informative program. It will be held in person on Thursday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. at Cooper Hall at Grace Church, 65 MacMillan Ave.

Updates from Across the County

We’re pleased to welcome Matt LaVere, our District 1 County Supervisor, who will provide an update from the Ventura County Board of Supervisors. Matt is no stranger to elected office — he served on Ventura’s City Council from 2016 to 2020 and as Ventura’s Mayor from 2018 to 2020. His long record of public service reflects his dedication to our city and its residents.

Following his update, LaVere will be available to answer any questions you may have.

It’s “OAKtober” in Ventura!

In celebration of OAKtober, we’re excited to host Barbara Brown and Christy Weir from the Ventura Tree Alliance. They’ll share the Alliance’s inspiring mission, recent accomplishments, and future goals, along with ways you can get involved or volunteer with this local grassroots nonprofit.

Do you know how many trees they’ve already planted in Ventura? You’ll find out at the meeting!

Police Report & Community Input
